Cardboard box or even if you can find a wood fruit box.

This is what i bought. Definitely much thicker than a regular stain, but it seemed to work pretty good. Good info on the factory finish of dimensional lumber. Ive always been curious why it stains so much different after the pores are opened.

If you're using a stain, use a pre stain conditioner. I can not stress this enough.

I've been told that so many times, and i've never done it.

Guess i should try it since the whole world swears by it.

I recently got into some woodworking with wine/whiskey barrels and have made a few things. It is fun to work with the wine barrel staves as they have a curve to them and can create some cool stuff. Below are a few things I have made so far. I was able to get a few at an antique store in Lafayette a few weeks back. They had a truck load but sold out pretty quickly. Took me a while to find any for decent price around here. Bought the broken down barrel staves from eBay

Starting on an outdoor cookstation, it's going to have a concrete countertop. Off to the left will be a hole for my Weber kettle, in the center I'll have a 2 burner outdoor stove, off to the right I'll have my griddlle. Below I'll store my big easy oil less fryer, crawfish burner and pot and butane bottle.

Few pictures of the joints.

Not really the neatest thing I've built, but it's sure worked wonders for our garage space. Wrapping the whole garage with this eventually. Will cut out the need to store anything in our attic. I'm slightly proud of how cheap, easy, and effective it has been (<$100)

It's one of those things that you wont know what you were missing out until you use it. Especially on pine. Try it once and you'll see the difference.

Nice work. I just got a weber kettle and I can't wait to get started on my cook station after I finalize the plans.

I'm excited I can finally post in this thread. Here's a buffet table I just finished for my wife. This was my first real wood working project of any kind.

Do you have plans for that buffet? My wife would love for me to build her that!

I have my cut sheets that I made in sketch up that I can post later. Mine was just a modified (longer and no drawer) version of THIS from Rogueengineer.com
