In my best Tom Hanks voice:

For those of you defending the plot twist, let's make it realistic and let those pirates find out about it and see what happens to him.

Ol' Capt Rackham....

This season 2 plot is def pretty interesting. Do they go for the gold or the "freedom"?

What happened to Flint and Thomas is realistic for the era though.

Being gay in England was punishable by death until the 1830s. It was based off a law created by King Henry VII called the Buggery Act.

They were "fortunate" that Hamilton's father was well connected. To avoid the scandal that would bring down his political career the old man essentially had Flint/Miranda banned from London and sent Thomas to an insane asylum.

As for the pirates, sure some might not like that he'll pop a dude in the booty but wouldn't risk fighting him to the death over it b/c odds are they'll end up with a ripped out throat while he continues on as captain.

I just finished S02E05. I wasn't expecting flint to be that type of pirate...

It felt even more forced than the lesbian story lines. Can starz not think up any other plot twists?

Whether you like the idea of Flint as gay or not, it makes way more sense to the drive of the overall story than Eleanor being bi. I kind of rolled my eyes at first too, but it's totally reasonable as far as why Flint's driven the way he is.

Flint better watch the frick out b/c Long John is realizing just how much sway he holds w/the crew.

Vain is about to go HAM on Nassau. It's probably not a good time to be living there.

As for last nights episode, I love the fact the character shot in the head is dead. That means the pirate who gave a damn about her will NEVER go legit and retire, but will become an even more badass pirate. And said character was kind of useless to the pirates anyways.

Agree with your synopsis, however I definitely didn't see it coming...

A great twist and getting rid of an annoying character all at once.

What I don't get is why her screaming outburst ruined the plan.

Yes, Blackbeard is finally coming to Black Sails, as the infamous pirate will be introduced in Season 3, played by Ray Stevenson

Great choice to play him.
