Are there any decently safe areas in North BR?

Any decently low-crime areas in Baton Rouge north of Government/Florida, west of Airline? This is a huge piece of real estate and I'm wondering if there are any remotely nice areas, or is it all a wasteland?
FYI This is not a race thing. There were five murders in North BR on Saturday, so I'd say it's just an objective fact it's a rough area.

I think there are some nice neighborhoods around Southern University - seriously.

They're trying to get the Government Street area under control. I don't think there is much luck, though.

Capitol View Place right behind the Governor's mansion.

Zachary is nice but you are you still liable to run into a typical BR area thug

Is that the small neighborhood that is hidden between a couple ponds by the capitol?

No of course it's not a race thing. Of course not.

Actually Zachary would be considered East of Airline since 61 cuts up and crosses under 110 on its way out towards St. Francisville. But yeah north Baton Rouge... I would say the only goodplaces are Central and Zachary. And Central buts up to some shady area over by the Comite River.

My grandmother lives near Hooper and Mickens intersection. She has great neighbors - people of all different ethnicities. She's a fearless old lady - regularly going on walks before sunrise - but she's never had a major issue.

There are plenty of good spots between I-110 and the river.
The area between Gov. and Florida is really nice from Acadian to Lobdell.
The rest is pretty much a garbage fire unless you go far enough north to be in Central or Zachary or East enough to be practically in Denham. Some of the areas off of N. Sherwood aren't too bad as the Vietnamese and Hispanics are keeping those neighborhoods afloat.

No they aren't. Government street doesn't have any major issues.
Mid City is perfectly safe.
The shootings are almost all north of Florida.

Times are changing fast in Zachary, Too many cookie cutter neighborhoods. Made housing affordable for many undesirables

Zachary is holding at about 65/35 for the last two censuses'. Most of the blacks are nice families, barely any crime. Plus it is actually gaining more white families via relocation due to the school district.
