Fall and winter are my favorite. Crappie and bass fishing gets good in October and stays good through April. Deer and ducks are good Nov through Jan. Hog hunting in Feb. Turkey on March and April.
May through August is a disaster. Too hot to do anything. When and if I can afford it I'm buying a house in the mountains. I hate being hot.

Don't want to buy, but I would love to head north or northwest from July to September to get away from the heat. Just rent or buy a rv and get the hell out of hell. Come back in October and get ready for some hunting.

On a normal year...
February - try to make a couple rabbit/squirrel and hog hunts. Start bass fishing
March/April -talk about turkey hunting, never make it. Continue to bass fish.
May-August - bass fish mostly, throw in a frogging trip or two
September - early teal season
October- bow hunt
November-January - ducks and deer.
How close is your pin to your actual location on the OB map, we may be neighbors.

Wait. Wat.
Duck season about to be done. Gonna do one conservation goose hunt but it's time to dust off the yo-yo's and catch some of those elusive CrappiSacaPerch up in the Mecca.
