Does anyone else feel this way about tonight's championship game?
For me the New Year's games felt like the ending of the season.
I'll watch, but I can't remember ever being less excited about a national championship game.

I know...

Nope... I feel like a bunch of SEC media types have tried to talk up the "This NC game is anticlimactic because an SEC team isn't in the title game."

Thats a load of horseshite.

Its like there was this huge event on New Year's Day and then....nothing. The delay killed all of the momentum and it will only be worse in the coming years when the semis are played on NYE or Jan 2nd.

I know the Super Bowl has a two week gap but that is such a big event that the entire country focuses on. I don't know what the solution is and maybe it seems down due to there not being an SEC team, but there's a noticeable difference this year.

It should still be a great game.

Absolutely not. Two great teams in primetime. This game should be a shootout, and an awesome one.

If LSU doesn't win the title I don't want any other SEC team to. Conference pride is silly.

Should be an exciting game.

I'm looking forward to it more cause there's no teams from Alabama in it.

Everyone was hoping for Alabama & FSU. A shaky Alabama team was perceived as the best team from the toughest division. Now, we have a 2 vs 4, where no one wants to get behind the underdog (4), because it is not a Cinderella type team. If TCU was 4, there would be more excitement.

But to answer your question, I never get excited about championship games that my team is not in. I might go to a viewing party or flip to check the score, but I do not watch intently.

Anyone who thinks there is no excitement associated with this game is simply butthurt. This is going to be a great game and ratings will be through the roof.

Screw the SEC.

I'm more excited about this game than I have been for a college football game in a long time.

Refreshing to not have to hear the "SEC is great" narrative being played all week.

Other than if LSU were to be there, I couldn't care less about there being no SEC team in the game.

I'm pretty dang excited. ESPN did a hell of a job pumping up this game for a week plus.
