Random factoid: dude from my high school won the contest to design the logo.

How many here knew there was World's Fair in Nashville in 1897?
I found that out at the Music City Bowl, I visted the Parathenon. Technically it wasn't in Nashville since the city was dry, the had to pass some type of special rule.

New Orleans killed it

It's Edwin Edwards' fault.

Really?
Grammar, Kelsey.
It matters.
(HINT: Singular verb tense / plural subject.)
Are you actually an Alabama fan or an Arkansas fan posing here as an LSU fan?

The one thing they should've kept from the '84 fair was the amphitheater on the river....

Too many people died so they did away with them.

I'm not even sure I know what a World Fair is. Anyone care to explain? Is it basically just a big carnival?

I still have an '84 Nola worlds fair license plate hanging in my living room, as well as a commemorative coin.
Iced tea was introduced at the 1900 fair.or 1904. The one that was in st Louis

I was 7 and thought the Gondola was pretty fun. If only it went somewhere you'd want to go.

I found the murders in Devil In The White City boring, but the logistics of the Chicago fair in 1893 fascinated me.

LAS Windows did a commercial at the mom and pop house in Metairie (complete with fake snow). Said commercial ran in the Energy House at the 1984 World's Fair. Dick Van Patten (the Eight is Enough dad) was in our living room.
Alas, I did not meet him. They did the commercial mid-semester while I was still at LSU.

I agree with that. What they accomplished in Chicago was pretty amazing.

I just got a book about the NY Fair in 1939, looking forward to reading it.
Doctorow's book? I read it in the spring, OK but nothing special and not much really about the World's Fair.

I saw a show there. Some sort of Polynesian thing.
