Anyone here ever remove stitches on their own?

Recently had to have six stitches across my knuckle and middle finger. Seems like it would be pretty simple to remove them yourself rather than missing work and making a return trip to the doctor.

I've had my neighbor remove staples and stitches, but she's a nurse. Stitches you can take out pretty easily, they just feel weird coming out. I think if I did it myself I would have to overcome that.
But snip and pull, it's not hard to do..

Stitches are for pussies. Rip them bitches out, superglue any remains holes. Go to work.

Yes, two across my knuckle. Just used fingernail clippers and pulled them out. Piece of cake.
Felt like a pussy for getting two stitches but it was right on the bend of my knuckle and would have kept getting pulled open.

Yes, it's as easy as it looks. Just make sure you leave them in the appropriate time - not too much not too little.

Yes. From myself on my head and a dog we had that was spayed.
The trick is to not pull the knot through the skin once you cut the line.

Yeah you basically snip and pull out. They only reason they tell you to go back to the doctor is to have the wound checked out. As long as it didn't look obviously infected, tout should be fine.

Yes, 8 stitches in my forehead. Like stated previously, it's very easy to just snip them and pull.

This right here.
It the stitches scab over, it can be a bitch. Especially if the wound is still tender.

Had my grandmother (retired nurse anesthetist) do it the only time I had stitches and wouldn't hesitate to do it myself. Pretty simple.

fingernail clippers, or those small nail scissors. I've done it a couple of times, as well as to one of my dogs.

Yes. Don't pull 'em too early or too late.
