4000 acres is a big place. People hear the word 'fence' and freak out and forget that there are deer living in that property that have never seen the fence and have no idea that it's penned in.

NO, because it is not hunting. Its shooting. People pet those deer during the off-season, I have seen it too many times. You are just paying to shoot a domesticated pet. Then you will put it on the wall and say "I hunted that?"

PS: I have never killed a deer in high fence, but the lies spoken about it are ridiculous

As soon as the fence goes up, all instincts of the animals within disappear. Its like magic really.

quote:Exactly. 4000 acres is huge. It would be like putting a fence up around all the southern states. Some people wouldnt even notice.

yeah 4000 is big, my main holding point right now is i wish i could change dates so dad could go. I have a friend that hunted it for 5 days a few years agao, he said he saw nothing but a few doe and one small buck for 3 days then he ended up getting a nice 130" 8 point on his 5th day. He said he went expecting deer to file in and pick himself one, but it was nothing like that

I know you're being a smartass, but I'd imagine that deer inside a high fence who don't have to compete with wild hogs for food or predators like coyotes would be much more relaxed inside the fence than out.

Yes, I have and will again.
Oh tell your friends this
They are likely just jealous![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

High fences don't keep out hogs or coyotes

So what's the point of the fence?

Hogs root under and coyotes dig under.
Posted on 1/5/15 at 4:54 pm to AlxTgr
Dig underneath, we put out a ton of snares and they still find holes to get in.

How high does a fence need to be to be called a high fence?
Posted on 1/5/15 at 5:34 pm to MillerMan
Fair enough, but would you agree that the hog and coyote problem is significantly less than the other side of the fence.
