Its almost comical to consider. Golston plays LSU, evaluates their QB situation and decides, "hell, I can play there."

His logic:

1) This Jennings kid ... hmmm... not good at all.

2) This Harris kid ... well, haven't seen him play, but since he is not playing ... can only ASSUME that must not be better than Jennings. Otherwise, if he is better ... Miles would be an idiot not to play him.

3) Heck, I can easily outplay their current starter.

And ... he would be correct.

As much as I HATE Notre Dame ... it is pretty sad that I would OPENLY welcome Golson as LSU's QB.

It would be an immediate upgrade over Jennings.

I think you definitely take him if he wants in. I'll take known talent over potential any day. All the talk of Harris transferring, he'd have to sit out a year right? Why not redshirt this yr with Golson starting and take over the next year?
Either way I say he's a take and really nothing to think about.

Our wide receivers were probably recruiting him while blocking along the sidelines.

If not that, then I am sure there was some activity from the thousands of LSU alumni with connections watching the bowl game and hearing about his eligibility to transfer over and over.

Even as a #3 option, it makes sense to bring him in.

People saying they wouldn't take Golston must not have seen how awful our current QB played in the bowl game. This is the most important position on the field, the only one that touches the ball every play, dude has to be able to play the position. Our current QB does not. This is a no-brainer.

Do you know this for sure, or was this just the fans that wanted mauk and Flynn to start that started this rumor.

I was in school when jmarc and Flynn were here. Flynn was out in tiger land a bunch, never saw jmarc. Flynn had some growing up to do as well.

Yes, it's well known that Rohan was not a practice player and that Jamarcus was just plain lazy. And I had buds who knew both of them and confirmed that to me. Flynn may have partied a good bit but I never heard of him not practicing hard or being lazy.

If Golson comes in, I think it would be more likely that Jennings transfers... I believe he still has a redshirt to use. Then Harris would be crazy to leave.

I think it's a no brainer to bring in golston.

He could come in and hand the ball off in the 4th quarter against the scrub teams.

@Sheadixon: Source on Everett Golson chatter: Talks of #LSU are "extremely premature". He hasn't been granted release yet, won't graduate until May.

@Everett_Golson5: Don't believe everything you hear..

Have you watched him play lately? Maybe he could fix his turnover issues somehow next year, but if he doesn't that is where he'll have this fanbase get driven crazy.

Product of the bad defense. He was doing fine before FSU (first 6 games 16 TDs passing 4 ints). Then defenive players started dropping like flies. It started in his 6th game against North Carolina. They allowed 43 points. Then for the rest of the regular season, they allowed at least 31 points in every single game (28 to us in bowl AFTER they got back two people). ND fans said they were playing 3rd string and walk on at most defensive positions.

They were 70th in rushing offense, and that's AFTER we gave up 269 yards to them. LSU has a great running game and top of the line defense that won't put the game solely in his hands. We need a guy who can complement the run game, and take pressure off of the defense and run game. I mean didn't Jarrett Lee greatly improve his turnover mistakes?

LSU could beat New Mexico state and ulm with me as QB
We actually may have lost the New Mexico state game if AJ stayed in. He was throwing more INTs than completions

Hopefully LSU accepts - what could this possibly hurt?

Yup. If he's not better than Jennings, he won't play.

Maybe we could Russell Sheppard him ??

This isn't the Pats or Broncos passing game! We use the run to set up the pass. As far as passing offenses go, I don't see LSU's in the top 50 in "complicated."

Think about this for a second ... Golson led ND to the BCS MNC game.

Granted ... they got blown the frick out, lol ... but, he was a big reason why they went undefeated ... along with Manatee-talk-thai T'eo and his imaginary girlfriend for Heisman-hype purposes.

So really, how bad is our QB situation?

This is fricking retarded. The QB turning the football over has nothing to do with the defense. The defense can be a pile of dog shite, but that doesn't mean Golson should fumble the ball once a game when getting tackled or throw 3 INTs.
