5) Do not like the crass materialism that christmas has become

I don't "hate" christmas but its by far my least favorite holiday.

Yeah... I don't hate Christmas. But it's just tiresome to hear the same ads over and over again.

If/when I have kids of my own I'll probably care a bit more about xmas.

I will say, the little Elf on the Shelf thing can be pretty funny. I have a few friends with really young kids who will post on Facebook where the Elf has been and what s/he has done.

If/when I have kids, I'll be doing it as well.

Unless you're a kid, there's no upside. As an adult, it's all stress. I have to get "thoughtful" presents for people who don't need anything. And it's not like there's anything out there I'm going to be "surprised" by for a present. Some rich benefactor I don't know of isn't going to surprise me with a Lexus. My wife's buying me shirts using my money (she works, but that's money that would otherwise go to bills or some item I actually choose.) Then there's travel, decorations, couple days off from work, but that doesn't mean the stuff doesn't still have to get done when I get back to it.

It's all stress. Bah Humbug.

And no, I don't hate holidays in general. I love Halloween, I like the 4th, I like Thanksgiving. Heck, pretty much every holiday is better than Christmas because no stress.

How is this Christmas' fault? Get a different job or work for a retailer who doesn't demand these hours.

That's brilliant.

And, I hate to sound like a grinch, but the shopping, the sending of cards....I dunno, all of it. It's just a pain.

I enjoy Christmas when around the right family members

The season in general is joyous, especially now that I can just online shop and not deal with traffic and retail bullshite. But when I have to be around my step family i want blow my fricking head off.

I always love the people who hate on the "christmas is too commercialized" people

they are the same people who will be bitching and proudly stating how they do not participate in such a fake, made up holiday like Valentines Day
