They're probably hanging out and laughing about Benghazi right now.

The Cold War (with the Soviet Union) is over. Cuba isn't a threat anymore so opening trade routes with them isn't going to hurt anything.

They should throw a Marxist shin dig and invite the brothers.

The embargo was wholly ineffective. Refute that.
At the time when Castro took over and stole billions of dollars of American property, he used that money to support leftist regimes and revolutionary movements throughout the world. He funded them, sent doctors to them, and sent troops to them to try and set up communists governments elsewhere. As the Cuban economy crumbled he couldnt do that anymore.
Also I think that possibly the only place that a communist government could survive indefinitely is a place like Cuba. Relatively small population (around 10 million), plenty of farmland, tourists attractions, and very close to the largest economy in the world. Government run hotels, resorts, and casinos would be everywhere. If American dollars had been pouring in for the last 40 years, and the government was getting all of it, they would be rich. And Cuba would be held up as a shining example that communism can work.

What would your spin be if someone other than Obama had done this? You are the Sean Hannity of the board. Obama could personally cure cancer and you'd find a way to be against it.

Why are you an isolationist?

I think it is about time we try and get Cuba to become a good neighbor . Only time will tell if they lighten up on their people. I'd rather have Cuba close whether friend or enemy. I'd also like to vacation there on a few yrs.

right because everyone wants to invest in a country where the govt can and will at any time, simply come confiscate your property, and you have absolutely no legal recourse.

what's sadly not surprising is that morons like you believe Obummer has actually done anything worth while at all, and you would always blame Bush for creating cancer.

This may be the only worthwhile thing he's done in his entire presidency unless he can get Gitmo shutdown before he leaves.

You apparently know little of my posting history here.

Did obama repeal the sugar tariff? It's a ridiculous protectionist price fix which artificially raises the price of sugar and products made with sugar. It's why brachs candy moved to Mexico.

Could you be honest? The embargo has not accomplished what it's proponents claim is the goal - toppling the regime. The evidence bears out that the opposite happened. Further there is much more evidence that economic engagement is more successful in opening up communist countries and delivering freedom to the citizens. Your supposition of what might have happened is pure fantasy - it's all you have.

Where is this win bullshite coming from? What did they "win"? I mean seriously a third world country just opened up for us to trade with, we're fricked!
Explain how that works. Will they buy our products and how will they pay?
Do we loan them money?
Or, will we export more industry to a third world country?
Will Obama give them cash for 70 yr old clunkers?
