Thieves struck by lightning minutes after robbing church

Video captured from another driver shows the car speeding down the road last Tuesday, leading police on a high speed chase after robbing a church in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The pursuit was cut short however, when a bolt of lightning destroyed the car and killed all the passengers inside. According to police reports another car was also damaged after hitting the ruined getaway vehicle.

Check the slow motion video. Looks like a head on collision. Not saying lighting didn't strike near there as there is smoke coming from the ground further up the road.

Looks like two cars collided head on although you don't see the oncoming car. At moment of "impact" it looks like two cars just collided. Maybe trying to get some extra attention on the story by blaming lighting.
