The malls in Houston seen plenty busy, although I know you're right about online shopping taking a chunk of their business. Still, malls look like they're making some money as long as they're located in white areas.

The Dillards is awesome. I got 4 dress shirts there for $35.

The era of the giant 3 story escalator mega indoor mall is over. Outdoor strip centers with Target Starbucks Claires and old navy are taking their place.

i went the other day because i thought i would avoid people, apparently you avoid everything. Even the big department stores barely carry anything. I still ended up having to go to Mall of Louisiana.

Does Cortana even Space Port anymore?

There was definitively a weave store. I can verify that. No corndog place. It's sort of like going on an archeological dig. Storefronts from places long ago remain and are so specific to what they were, it's difficult imagining what other tenant could be there today. Having to remodel is not cost effective because no one is shopping there anyway it seems.

I had to go in there last week.
I and my two family members were the only white people that I saw in there during the more than an hour in there.
jus sayin'

ook up reports on new mall development and the failure rate of existing malls. The writing is on the wall even though you think your Christmas traffic somehow means malls are thriving. Reply to this thread in January and tell me how that traffic looks.
You are rt, but Lakeside is one of the busier malls in America. It will hold up for a while.

These were the good ole days! Before the dark times... before the Empire!
Before cars were cheap and every TD&H had one and could afford enough gas for the 10 mile round trip.

So when Esplanade finally closes, will it mean anut hint for Lakeside

There is a very good reason to keep ghetto malls open. Just saying.
What would that be?

Damn, you cold son.
To keep the entrepreneurial spirit alive, of course.
I don't think weave shops can afford a spot at Mall of Louisiana. Think of the baby mamas.

The anchor stores still draw from Central, Baker, and Zachary, Asians from Sherwood, and Black people.
Baker, yes... Central and most of Zachary, no. Ten more minutes on the interstate vs going down airline is a no brainer.
I grew up going to the Plaza in New Orleans East... Ice rink baby...

THANKS AMAZON
I go to Amazon for a lot of stuff, but I would venture to guess that 99% of what I buy from Amazon takes business away from Walmart/Home Depot/Office Depot. When I want new clothes or shoes I'm still going to the mall.
ETA: but not Cortana
