A bit pricier but still in the range, Chateau St. Michelle Indian Wells Red Blend has a nice velvety feel for $17.

Agree but the Indian Wells is even much better than the Columbia Valley, IMO.

I've enjoyed these 3 often as well.....Costco does carry them.

I concur about Gott savignon blanc. I'll also vouch for the Sea Glass pinot, as someone else posted. It regularly sells for $10 at Rouse's in N.O. and is quite a bargain.

I'll have to give Chateau Ste Michelle another try. Had a few bottles about 4-5 years ago, and was not impressed. But, I realize that this amount of time with wineries could mean a ton of changes.

Seghesio Zinfandel is my favorite value (sub $20) wine..
With that said, it's much easier to find good Zins at that price point than pinots (almost impossible) or cabs.
Best values these days are in Napa Merlots and Dry Creek Valley Zins.

I almost fell out when I saw Gott Sauv Blanc for $10 there. It is $13-$17 in BR.

We are really starting to explore red burgundy here in the Cricket household. I've done a lot of reading and repeated research, but it's still been a big learning curve.
Any 2011 1er or Grand Cru that you might recommend?

Anything from Chateauneuf du Pape is going to be good, albeit pricey. The Mouton Cadet Bordeaux is very good as well. 2010 was an excellent year for Burgundy wines.

Bliss is making nice wines for under $20 ... their pinot is about $15 and is very good ... they also sell a merlot and a chardonnay, tho i've not had the latter ...
