What is your night stand, home defense gun?

Not for the outdoor board. But what is your go-to if something were to go down in your house.
.357 Ruger for me personally. Even if i were out of rounds in it, could still do some damage gripping a 3lb hunk of steel and swinging it at someone.
Update: Got a laser sight for my Glock 9mm, now that is my go to.

All I know is if someone is crazy enough to continue to break in after hearing the pump from a shotgun they are dumb as frick

I started this thread thinking of that. Father has one, the 5 shot public defender.
What do you have? Same one? Thinking of one day getting the raging judge that takes .410, 45 LC, and 454 Casull.

I've got all of these within reach

Exactly. Rack that slide once and it should be enough warning.

Good enough to give away your position as well....

Nice set. But, in the spirit of the question...if you could only grab one, which would it be?

I love it

I was actually lying. I only have the 12gauge & .45 within arms reach, and it would entirely depend on the circumstances. That's why I keep both close.

I do not live in the ghetto, and I am not filled with irrational fears, so I do not need to keep guns in my home -- much less by my bed.

A 12 gauge and a .270.

True.
But if I'm putting one in…it's about to come out.

Unless you are in a gated community with 24-hour access control, you should reconsider.

And it's not an irrational fear, it's common sense. Break-ins, robberies, & murders take place every single day. Why not be prepared to even the playing field in the 1-in-a-billion chance you ever need to?
