Do you think Rich Rodriguez has what it takes to win at an SEC School?

Obviously it would need to be one of the powerhouse sec schools but do you think he can do very well at a Georgia, Florida, or an LSU?

Yes, but UF is the only football progressive school that would allow him to do his thing.

If Les did go to Michigan, Id want Rich Rod at LSU.

It's a good question.
Personally, I don't think so. I don't think he could handle the pressure.

Would Rich bring the 3-3-5 with him?

no no no - another put points up - will lose big game

As long as he has his merry band, I'd say yes. His success has been as much about Magee & Casteel as anything. I'd like to see the 3-3-5 with an SEC-caliber D-Line. Plus the East isn't exactly thunderdome right now.

He would do well at UF imo.

What's more important is if he brings his d coordinator from WVU, Casteel, with him. He did for 'Zona, but not for Michigan.

His lack of emphasis on defense, would not allow him to be overly successful. Also, those types of offense put a ton of pressure on your defense. That is why there needs to be balance.

I think Rich Rod would be a significantly better option at Florida than McElwain but then again that's because Rich Rod has an actual track record of success and isn't the Derek Dooley of the Mountain West.

Comparing McElwain to Dooley is moronic. Dooley had a shitty record at Tech when UT hired him. He was a lifelong position coach before being a HC. McElwain was a good OC and has been a good HC.

I think he would be like Sumlin. All offense with little defense. The reason the defense can't be great with their styles is that they are on the field too much and get tired. You think having a bad offense is frustrating, try having a porous defense. LSU fans can look back to 2008 as an example. Let's not even bring up the Tepper and Hallman days.

I don't know about other places, but I think he would find a lot of success at Florida.

Save for one or two early seasons, Casteel's defenses at West Virgina -- especially under Rich Rod -- were almost always highly ranked. WVU had the #7 total defense and #8 total defense in the country in Rich Rod's last season in Morgantown.
It's not like his teams have all been like Auburn in 2014. Rich Rod and Casteel would tear it up with Florida or Louisiana athletes.

Rich Rod damn near had WVU in the title game and then (albeit with stewart at the helm) his team demolished Oklahoma in the bowl game that year. That was with Pat White at QB.
He could certainly be successful in the SEC. The only question, which has already been mentioned, is what he would do on defense. At UM Casteel decided to stay at WVU and Rich Rod tried having DC that never coached the 335 before use it, without success. If he brought Casteel with him from AZ, IMO RR would definitely be successful.

If we got Rich Rod, could we keep Chavis?
Posted on 12/2/14 at 2:23 pm to LSU Patrick
Chavis has the extension...I think it would be a good fit or even RR and muschamp or Pelini. How awesome would it be to finally have an offense that lights it up and a sick defense to go with it
