Prolly the best pure basketball player on the team, but he still hasn't hit puberty and is just physically smaller than everyone else.
However, he is incredibly skilled and has the ball on a string and gets wherever he wants whenever he wants. He's really fun to coach because he gets it, too.

Once you get a lead you should start scouting the players moms to find you a single milf looking for a sugar daddy.

1-3-1 zone is an underrated defense FWIW.

Run 100. 3 guys playing man on their 3 studs, have your other 2 sit at high post and heead in the hole

We installed a stall offense Saturday so I can do just that.
8th grade puts the mom range in like the mid to late 30s, I believe...

We're not ready for man to man principles yet. Besides, that isolates their competent guard on just one defender. I'd rather run him into a trap system and then just eat up the weaker guards once the competent one has to pass out of the trap.

Great way to triple a team who relies on one big for their scoring.

We run a 1-2-2 half-court trap that the high school team runs and it is pretty effective. A lot of teams run a 2-3 and most teams are used to seeing it, so we may save the 1-3-1 for the second half of the year.

A junk defense to use for a couple of possessions. Susceptible to the short corner, corner threes and weak side skip passes. Other than that it's great.

They're going to be in high school next year. They need to learn to play man.

I used to run a 1-3-1 trap that I liked.

And we'll put it in throughout the year. Our base is the 2-3 and we are facing a dominant big tonight so we focused on that.
We've dabbled in some man-to-man principles, though.
