What will it take for you to admit that RG3 just isn't a good QB?
Are you one of those guys that just can't admit that Vick isn't a good QB too?

I disagree. The mistakes are because he's just not very good. He's been given plenty of opportunity but hasn't shown himself to be a very good QB.

Why do you think the coaching staff is passing over him in favor of Colt McCoy?
Because they think Colt McCoy gives them a better chance to win this week? They don't trust Cousins not to throw multiple INTs this week. BTW, Peyton Manning threw 2 INTs in his 10th start, which is what Cousins would be if he started another game.
It's shortsightedness. Talent-wise, Cousins is ahead of McCoy. At some point, they are going to have to either let Cousins go to another team, or play him long enough to see if he can get over his INT problem. If he does, he's a solid NFL starter. If not, they at least know. 9 games is not enough to know.
Again, he has all the problems through 9 games that Peyton Manning had, except not as bad. I don't see how that is conclusive to say he cannot improve and be better.

You'd be better served dropping the Peyton Manning angle. Everyone saw the potential in Manning. He was the 1st overall pick. We're in year 3 of Cousins and he still looks like shite. This isn't his rookie season. He's had multiple offseasons and training camps to get his shite together. Since you're in the mood for comparing Cousins to Peyton, compare year 3 of Cousins to year 3 of Peyton.
It's pretty clear that the coaches have seen enough of Cousins to know he ain't shite. He looks like a career backup. That's not a bad thing. It's an easy job. But to act like "if only they gave him a chance, he could be something" is silly.

surrendered three first-round picks and one second-round pick
...and have turned the reins over to a QB off the scrap heap. Nice dumpster fire, Redskins.

I don't understand why they don't just keep rg3 in at QB, and tank the rest of the season for a better draft pick. If McCoy comes in a wins a few more games it could cost them 8 draft slots.

Which should take priority over trading picks for a QB. Cleveland actually did a pretty great job of getting talent on that roster.

They might be coaching for their jobs. No telling with that franchise.

I think that it is relevant to say that Kirk Cousins has been better through his first 9 starts than Peyton Manning was through his first 9 starts. I mean, he's the greatest QB of all-time stats wise.
My comment was that it is short-sighted to ditch a QB like Kirk Cousins based off a few bad games but to continue to let RG3 have try after try. Kirk Cousins has shown the flashes of what it takes to be a good NFL QB. The mistakes he's made are because of lack of playing time.
I don't think he's a future All-Pro QB or anything. But, he could improve enough to become an every day starter if given time to grow. NFL teams throw QBs away far too fast.
Look, I am sure you haven't watched many Redskins games, and are probably still enamored with COusins from his MSU days of glory, but if you watched the games you'd know. He isn't just unlucky, or unfortunate, he is bad. The throws he makes into double or triple coverage are mind blowing. He is a total gunslinger, but he doesn't have anywhere near the volume of good plays or decisions to offset his struggles. He is a serviceable backup who can come in when the starter goes down to finish out a game, but to rely upon him week in and week out as a starter is unrealistic.
Combine this with a team that needs the QB to be a difference maker, and not a game manager and he is in way over his head.

What makes you think Cousins is ahead of McCoy talent wise, I'd actually argue the opposite. McCoy has mobility, and accuracy whereas Cousins has a better arm. However Cousins makes terrible decisions with the ball, despite nearly two months of first team work whereas Colt hasn't gotten much in the way of first team snaps.

Jay Gruden probably knows that Snyder fired Marty Schottenheimer after one 8-8 season to hire the OBC. Jay is not going down with the RG3 ship.
