They towed my roommate for parking in a legal spot in our apartment complex a few yrs ago. His car was in the shop, so he was using a loaner car and did not get another parking sticker from the office yet. While they were towing him we showed them documents that he was a resident. They didn't give a shite and actually told him their offices didn't open back up til midnight, so they charged him the $70 extra for a day. This all happened at like 10pm.

Never dealt with them but it sounds like people should take it up with the businesses that hire them to tow from their property

I've heard these stories before and thankfully haven't had to deal with them, but my question is always why aren't y'all doing something about it? Seems like hundreds of people that have had run ins with them. That's a sizeable group that can at least attempt to bring about change. You guys need to get organized and stop talking about it.

Never been towed, maybe it's because I don't park where I'm not suppose to???????

Scruffy has never been towed and he still thinks these people are a bunch of pieces of shite.

You don't have to be on the receiving end of unjust practices to condemn them.

That would be asinine.

I wish someone would burn that place to the ground. Preferably with the employees and owner inside.

I was just thinking about buying it, burn it to the ground and then use the lot for free parking.

My favorite Riverside story. Back in 05, my buddy got towed. Riverside used to stash cars over by the Circle K at the north gates after towing and have one truck ferry cars over to the yard (which is illegal btw). Drove my buddy over there to check, and sure enough there was his car. Got in it, and drove back home.

I will repeat this again. If you want to stop their shady tactics its easy but it has to be a group effort. Get as many people as possible together and take turns stalking them. Follow them every they go. Take video and pics of everything they do. especially the roof top looks outs. Every tow they make have someone video it no matter if its legit or not. Tease and verbally agitate the drivers. Upload everything to facebook and twitter. None of this is illegal, but it will make the owners nervous to know they are being filmed. Basically organize a tow truck paparazzi that monitors everything they do. eventually if they are doing the shady stuff everyone says they will be caught red handed.

Did this once. They used to stage cars over in front of the old Delchamps on Highland back before the neighborhood Wal Mart opened in there. It's really just over a hedge from Plantation Trace. Just walked over, got in, and left. The tow truck was pulling in with the spoils of another hunt as I was pulling out.

It made me wonder if people going to that old PJ's or that subway ever accidentally parked in their staging area and got towed away.

It's quite simple. If you block my driveway and I cannot leave when I need to because you are too good to walk an extra 50 feet, you can visit the impound lot on North Claiborne

You're in Nola and people were blocking your driveway. What does any of this have to do with the thuggishness of Riverside Towing in BR?

with age and wisdom, i'm sure you would have handled this differently

find your car in drop location

commence to fricking the car up

call the police

explain that you figured that car was towed, caught ride with friend, and found car messed up in this parking lot

proceed to give towing company a world of shite for the illegal towing procedures

Weak. Weak. Weak. I would be out there the next fricking night with the same car as bait. They'd be towing the fricking truck out of the river, probably with the driver still in it, you know, unless I really did park illegally.
