I'll let you reply

I used to have much higher expectations. At this point I expect 8-4, 9-3 at best. I used to expect going to the SEC Championship game on a regular basis. I don't anymore.

9-3 or some variant of that every year...
this year they very well could end up anywhere between 7-6 and 9-4

I expect them to have a shitty offense unless there is a future nfl quarterback on the roster who has had development under a college system other than Les Miles'.

My expectations change every year based on the team we have coming back, the schedule, and how the West looks.
What rational adult wouldn't adjust their expectations every year???
ETA: I expected 9-3 or 8-4 this year.

7 to 10 wins with Les Charlie Miles McClendon coaching the team

compete for the SEC West crown every year. Depending on the talent level of the team, generally 10 wins is the expectation.

I lived through the archer/hallman/dinardo era, so I certainly don't expect 11 wins every year like lots of folks do...
I understand that any team will have ups and downs and with that comes some elite teams along with some rebuilding years as the players cycle through their eligibility...that was the case even when the almighty saban was our coach...
I would say that my "expectation" is that in exchange for the money that I pay, I get a competetive team that is fun to watch on a consistent basis...

Expectations change. This year I expected 9 wins. Remains to be seen.
Next year I expect 10+. I will not base my expectations on LM. I do it with the team.
I think it's reasonable to expect 4-0 OOC and 5-3 SEC on a yearly basis, with the random exception of a really tough OOC opponent. And this is a standard/low end expectation.

Not to be embarrassed would be a nice start

A lot of left of center, a lot of right of center, A lot of running right smack into landmasses. A lot of confused looks from our qbs. A lot of clock mismanagement by our coach. A lot of bs from Miles on who is performed super well in practice. Some very good punting, some pretty good kicking, some solid defense.

My expectations never change. I would just like to see a well coached, consistent, disciplined football team. A team where the coaches put the team in a position that best suits its personnel. A team that focuses on playing at the highest level they possibly can play regardless of opponent.

Lose to Bama and an embarrassing loss to a less talented team. Also some quirky Les Miles moment that's fans seem to eat up.

Considering the staff, talent (if you believe recruiting rankings) facilities,etc...LSU should be a perennial top 15 team. So 9-3 or better every season.
This isn't outrageous considering there's at least 3 gimmes every year on the schedule.

Expectations? 3-4 losses.
Hopes? Undefeated

I expect to reload, not rebuild.
I expect to be an SEC championship contender every year. I don't mean in the championship game every year, but certainly in the top 3 in the SEC west and in the championship game every 3rd year.

I don't think any SEC team has an inherent recruiting advantage over us - not Bama, not UF, not A&M, not UGA. So I expect our talent to be at least on par with every other SEC team, every season.
I can temper my expectations due to injuries, early departures, expulsions, road games (AU this yr was a tough draw with a new QB), schedule stretches (e.g., '12 with UF, USCe, A&M, and Bama).
I expect the staff to target Atlanta every single, season - no exceptions. I expect the staff to talk of games, wins, and losses and how they affect our chances to get to Atlanta (not this atomized approach to playing for victory each game).
So I expect us to lose a game from time-to-time, but that's it.

My expectation is that the coaching staff gives better effort on the field then the OP gave with this thread

Changes every year. Recruiting, schedule and departures are diff every year.
Most of these posters are full of shite. When it comes to bashing they say title or bust. Now they sing a diff tune. Funny how things work when most predicted a season like this. They also discount 2011 as if we were shite. But then say well I predict 2-3 losses every year. Seems like we actually have exceeded expectations.
