I give my cleaning lady a $100 bonus halfway thru the year and another 100 at Christmas.
I also give $50 to some checkout clerk for Christmas at businesses I frequent often where I am treated nicely. I have four or five people I rotate the gift to over time.

My trash guys leave the can in the middle of the driveway every damn time. So they won't be getting anything. We've only lived here for 8 months, so it's not because I didn't tip last year or something.

I have never heard of tipping or gifting these people anything. I bet most of you are the same ones who bitch about tipping in restaurants

Well then you'd be wrong.

Garbage men. Usually give 'em $100 each.
My garbage men are so terrible at their job I should steal money from them for Christmas.
Seriously they leave trash everywhere and just recently took a month to come pick up my God damn storm debris

Pay them for services rendered. If they do a good job a tip to show your appreciation is entirely appropriate.
But do it right then and there, any time of year. What are you waiting for, Christmas?

My maid and my carwash man get a bonus. Everyone else, stylist, restaurant servers, etc get tips every time I use them.
UPS, Postal Service, Garbage Men, etc. That's not the service industry. If they get tips for doing their job, then so should I.

I give nothing to these people. Maybe if they got me a gift I would

Man, I bet if you gave them each a $20 and wished them a Merry Christmas, they'd take care of you.

I think it would be real nice to give your child's teacher something small like a 20-30 dollar giftcard. This is assuming that she is nice and not a crazy biotch of course.

We tip our UPS and mail person. UPS gets $10, and mail carrier gets $5. We have multiple mail carriers, so whoever gets it that day hits the jackpot.
Both the wife and I use the same hair stylist, and we get her a present. Same for our massage therapists, its usually just a token to let them know we are thinking of them. We give them tips each time we use their service.
I have never considered tipping our housecleaners. we have new ones and they are awesome so we will probably tip them. Pretty sure they are illegal but IDGAF.

I don't believe in tipping period... End of story.
If a waitress is amazing and gives me free stuff, then I will tip her the amount the free stuff would have cost. No free stuff = No tip
Aside from that let the restaurant pay them what they deserve to make.

She reminded me about how the UPS guy hides the packages out of sight so they aren't stolen by roving Uptown youths,
You should give some money to the guys at your local center who move your packages for you and give them to your driver, while working part-time and not making $70,000+ a year.

Every single time our garbage men chunk our trash can back in the driveway. Bothers me.

My mailman sucks, so for Christmas last year I put a snake in the mailbox. Surprise MF'er
Tired of that fool putting my mail in the neighbor's mailbox or opening the envelopes he thinks might have money in them.

I would imagine I am in the minority in giving USPS tips, so yes, it would be a jackpot!

Most centers have a service counter (clerks are also part-time) who you could possibly speak to.
The package handler shifts are around 3:30-8:30 in the morning and 5:00-10:00 at night. Those guys will be working many more hours as well during this peak season. They work hard now for the chance to become drivers and make good money years down the road.
