Acadiana at Ponchatoula round 2.

We'll see if they're for real real early.

I've seen all 3 Ascension teams this year. STA is the most complete team. EA has no defense. Dutchtown can't hold on to the football. Every team in 5-5A outside of Catholic is very flawed. I don't see any of them going very far.

Acadiana really didn't make the playoffs?

Tough matchup for Ponchatoula. Acadiana will give them all they want. Anyone have some info on Sam Houston? They actually look really good and could be a really tough draw for West Monroe.

Sam Houston is big up front and they have a fast RB. They lost a couple of Heartbreakers that they really should have won.

Jeezus...they won a single game and still made the playoffs. Whoever they play, it should be a slaughter.

If they run, WM wins. Spread teams are WM's kryptonite.

Agreed! They have fits with spread teams but on a positive note, if they are good enough to make it to Byrd, that game could be a tossup. I haven't seen many times line up and run at West Monroe and win throughout the years. This defense is peaking at the right time and is one of the best in the state if the offense can put up a few points.

I think WM will need both QBs to make it. I'd like to see some plays with both on the field. Put them both in the backfield so the D doesn't know if it's a run or pass. Friday was a bad snap away from being perfect. Still no punts, and no turnovers. Starting to roll at the right time.

I am guessing you feel this way based off of last year?

Bring them on I am not scared. At least we will get them at the swamp. But if St Amant did pull the upset wouldn't we have to go on the road the next week and play at the Pit?

I would hate for Rummel to have to play Jesuit again, and I believe Catholic has a great chance to upset Curtis.

If you don't make it this year with that bracket, you'll never make it. I'd be shocked if Ponchatoula isn't in the Dome.

How is Acadiana and Barbe? We will likely meet up with them. They are normally powerhouses.

I wouldn't. The 3rd rd is normally when high seeds have to travel right? Thanksgiving weekend. Lots of distractions and we have never been in this position. I am expecting us to get upset. As far as those questioning if Ponchy is for real? Yes they are this year. But they lose 25 seniors.

Why did they split the Division 1-4 games and the other 5 classes?? Division 1-4 are on Friday December 6 and the others are the following weekend. We'd maybe have stayed to watch but no way we're going back.

Both are having down years by their standard and are certainly beatable. However with powers like Acadiana, Barbe, and West Monroe you never want to have that draw early in the playoffs.

JJ, what can you tell me about Nachitoches Central? Big, fast, type offense, etc. they come to Hahnville this week. Pretty sure they'll be bigger than us, just about everyone is.
