re: Is it all Jennings' fault?

AJ has limited abilities and for that reason it is better to play Harris for next year.

All we need is a different quarterback, receivers to learn how to catch, and a better offensive plan. Other than that, we're golden!

So what is everyone's consensus here? Do y'all think we start Harris for the rest of our games since the SEC west title is no longer a distant possibility?
We don't really have anything to lose at this point IMO. Still think coach sticks with Jennings

he made some shitty plays, but there were some drops that were't excusable.

quote:Hey, this sounds familiar. Remember that year we had an idiot QB who never saw the rush coming? When our top WR dropped everything, and the other, highly touted guy, couldn't run routes worth a flip? Our scheme sucked that year too, and we needed to get rid of the whole bunch of them.

Oh, wait- Mett, Beckham and Landry all came back the next year and lit shite up. Amazing what happens when players get some experience.

Here's the thing -- we're not asking him to do anything that you wouldn't ask of an average middle school quarterback - and he can't do that.

Domangue and V Alexander. The loss is on them.

I don't think anyone is saying let play Harris and he'll win a Heisman this year. I would just like to see him get in the game and get some reps. If it goes well leave him in a little bit and see how it goes it couldn't possibly get any worse.
If he doesn't do well put the starter back in. I mean you can't kill his confidence any worse than you already have. I mean we put so much stock in the Auburn game, but the defense didn't exactly play that well that game either.

If Jennings was a senior I would be quite this upset about the situation.
But, the thought of having to put up with this third-string-high-school-level bullsh!t for the next two years is just unbearable.
And, we've seen Les pull this same sh!t with Jordan Jefferson in the past.
And, I never thought it would be even remotely possible to make this analogy, but Anthony Jennings makes Jordan Jefferson look like Joe Montana.

It's half Jennings' fault.
He directly contributed to Bama getting an easy 3 before the half with that pick.
The other half falls on our kicker (or coaching staff for the "squib" kick decision), for kicking the ball out of bounds and giving bama excellent field position with less than a minute to go.
Both of those instances directly contributed to Bama putting points on the board and putting our defense in a bad situation.

Lots of people had a hand in losing this game. I think Jennings, Quinn, Domingue, Alexander all deserve to see the bench. Starr Harris, Diarse, Gamble, and next up at LG.

Call was to kick it out the EZ. He couldn't do it all night, tried to kick it harder and kicked it wrong. all on him
Posted on 11/9/14 at 11:26 am to LSUFANinIL
No not all his fault but he made some poor decisions so some of the blame goes to him

Lol winnptiger.. Thats idiotic.. Did you watch the rest of the LSU season when Harris lead LSU to the drives every single time and Jennings was atrocious against far inferior defenses than AU...??
Harris had one bad game as a true fresh on the road. Yet Jennings gets away with throwing multiple picks against inferior cup cake teams at home

No ... last I checked this was a team sport.

A lot of drops from the wideouts but some of his throws were just pitiful.
After that Int he was done. He started to throw it at the WR feet. He had a couple of bad reads on the read-option. And he barely went through progressions. The last play scramble he had 15yds of open field but threw it into double coverage in the endzone. 8-28 for 77 yards is pretty bad.
I'm not will to put this game on him however. Collins got worked by Cooper for big plays. Punt team had a shity punt allowing Bama a short field and the go ahead tie. In OT the play calling to pass every play was questionable.
That being said we beat them the whole game but couldn't finish them off the fourth or in OT.
Great game though, proud of my Tigers for sticking it to the 5th best team in the country.

Harris is a far superior talent and regardless he would not do any worse at home. You are quick to point to one road start and say how quickly we forget.. What about all the other times Harris lead the offense to scores when Jennings was stalling the O and turning over the ball.
It's obvious to roll with the talented guy if there is no separation.. Fans have been screaming for Beckwith to start over Welter.. So say Beckwith had one horrendous game in his first start at MLB.. Does that mean you go right back to Welter.. No. It's just clearly obvious you play the more talented guy if the guy in front of him has not improved and has no separation

Vadal had a great game and is one of the best offensive linemen in the conference.
You can't bench him.
The others? I'm cool with.

Jennings could improve his game exponentially by eliminating one simple issue....he locks on to one receiver from the start of the play for entirely too long and if that person isn't open, he can't get through his progressions.
His passes are extremely inaccurate, and the very few he actually does throw in a half decent manner, get dropped.
There were a lot of little things that contributed to the loss last night. But the two things I mentioned in my previous post directly caused us to get the L.
ETA: As for Quinn...he looks like he is out there just to run routes. His hands are never ready when the ball gets there. Looks like he isn't ready or expecting to get the ball thrown his way. Which boggles my mind.
