Some very revealing quotes from Chavis on Les'

quote:

"Nobody panicked. There wasn't any panic around here," said LSU defensive coordinator John Chavis, whose defense has allowed just three touchdowns and three field goals over its opponents' past 37 possessions. "We just went back to work, corrected the things we needed to correct and made sure everybody was on the same page.

quote:

"Coach Miles does that as well as anybody, making sure everybody is pulling in the same direction, and I'm not just talking about the players. I'm talking about the coaches. I'm talking about everybody. He has a conviction about this program that doesn't waver, and that's whether you get beat like we did [against Auburn] or win a championship.

quote:

"It truly is a family here, and I can't imagine ever wanting to coach anywhere that it's not that way."

He may have underachieved at LSU, but something tells me we will miss him when he does retire.

Most successful coach in school history.

Yet "underachieved."

All I got from that and the call in show last night was...we're gonna kick Bama in the face.

This is all anyone will see here. Shouldn't have written it. It's stupid and moronic. Delete it.

Let's let the season play out before making that call. LSU still likely loses 4 games this year. (Bama and Arkansas)

In terms of recruiting and running a top notch program who consistently fields a competitive team he has overachieved. In terms of squandering potential he has grossly underachived. Have an upvote.

If you don't have a semblance of perspective or understanding of how college football works, of course he's underachieved.

I have thought the same as stated in the article relative to the coaching job the staff has done since the early season meltdown.

Realistically though, this article (like my thoughts on the topic) are conditioned on the use of the term "if" as in "if" the team can push through and win out or lose only one (1) more game.

How does being the most successful HC in LSU history as well as being one of most successful in the BCS/SEC equate to underachieving??? Not to mention that all this was done when the SEC has never been a stronger football conference.

Each to our own, but that does not begin to compute.

He hasn't underachieved in any category at all. This thread is dumb other than Chavis' comments

For me the money quote is:

quote:

Their starting quarterback, Anthony Jennings, is a true sophomore. His backup, Brandon Harris, is a true freshman. Their leading rusher, Leonard Fournette, is a true freshman. Their leading receiver, Travin Dural, is a redshirt sophomore, and the two guys behind him, Trey Quinn and Malachi Dupre, are true freshmen. In fact, true freshmen have accounted for 23 of LSU's 36 offensive touchdowns. The Tigers have played 17 true freshmen through the first nine weeks, the most of the Miles era.
