I honestly don't know much about him but his name is being thrown around for 2016.

I couldn't stand his voice when he worked at Fox but I like his management style as governor. People of Ohio appear to be quite pleased with him. Fiscal consevative. Repealed the estate tax in Ohio.

What is his stance on the NSA issues?

Honestly I have no idea. Would have to look at his voting record as a member of congress

I have liked him since I first noticed him in 1994

He is not an ideologue. He's a manager/administrator. Very good on economics. Think Chris Christie without the ego.

Kasich/Paul is a 16 year ticket.

He also attempted to do what Scott Walker did to the unions in Wisconsin and got it passed but it was later repealed via state wide ballot.
The unions came to play BIG TIME in repealing Senate Bill 5.

When Fox News was talking to him last night, he looked a little like this guy..

In Ohio, he cut the public sector unions, including the police and firefighters.
That was the difference between Wis and Ohio and why Ohio repealed the law. Even after repeal, unions still HATE him.

The election last night would have been much closer if not for the dem candidate being found to have not renewed his driver's licence for almost ten years.

Yeah, it got nasty and he bit of more than we could chew here.
Without the money from Police and Fire unions, as well as the man power, I doubt it's overturned and public sentiment wouldn't have been as strong.
Teachers hate Kasich with a passion, even "conservative" ones.

Kasich took on the unions in Ohio and lost in a repeal by a wide margin. The thing that impressed me the most was that he actually listened to the people and adjusted. When that happens, everybody wins. He balanced Ohio's budget and we now have a huge surplus of savings....and he cut state taxes! The one issue Kasich might have is his accpetance of the Medicaid expansion. Other then that, he has been pretty solid. I know he is planning on cutting taxes again. I dont want him to run for President!! People really should look at the amazing rebound and resurgance the state of Ohio is in!!

Part of it is cyclical, but he certainly helped.
And you could say he also listened to the people about medicaid expansion as well.
That may not play out well nationally, but it was certainly well received by the majority here.

I don't see how he gets past this.

He could easily spin this as being moderate, because that's really what he is.
He is reasonable.

That's not going to get him through the Primaries.
