Two in the neighborhood for me were open carrying. First Halloween I've seen an open carry.

Did they spread the word about open carry?
Posted on 11/1/14 at 11:48 am to Crawdaddy
Neither said anything. One kept standing there with his hand on it in tough guy stance looking around at everyone the whole time.

On Halloween, with kids trick or treating?
Sounds like a giant "look at me everybody" douchebag to me.

So ridiculous that people do this. Would never actually vote against something like open carry but I really do not like it.

While I agree with the open carry law, I don't think it's smart to open carry. From a tactical standpoint and because it draws unnecessary attention to gun owners. The people that put on a show of open carrying are generally not who you want as the face for gun rights.

I have no problem with open carry when it's appropriate, but during a kids holiday will do more harm to legit gun owners than it will to help.

Word. There's a time and a place for open carry. Halloween is not one of those times.

agree completely...those are the very folks that I don't really think need to have firearms...

I'ma take a bit of a different tack... more open carry would make it less of an issue. It really could be the norm.
Hand on the weapon, looking around, is not cool, but imagine if 30% of the males walking around on Halloween with an open carry, nobody would give two thoughts to it.

Saw this cop, but she was only carrying cuffs
Posted on 11/1/14 at 1:40 pm to Meauxjeaux
True. I never open carry though. There are too many advantages to concealed carry.
Posted on 11/1/14 at 1:43 pm to thejudge
Is it illegal to open carry on someone's private property? I think I remember being taught it was illegal to conceal on private property unless you have permission, not sure about open.
Posted on 11/1/14 at 2:04 pm to deaconjones35
Legal to open carry. The property owner can tell you to leave. If you refuse then you are remaining after being forbidden however There should not be a gun charge.
