saban is a top 10 coach, nothing more, no "better" than Miles, Malzahn, Dantonio, Stoops, etc.

he didn't lose 50 IQ points when he left for Miami and then gain 100 when he went to bama. the difference now is his recruiting. it went from very good at LSU to 5 straight number 1 classes at bama, who was on the verge of the death penalty for paying recruits just 12 years ago. gosh what a coincidence.

he's also been accused of stealing signals by almost every SEC team. Ole Miss held up 6 different sign boards during their game to counter that.

and I don't mean "figuring them out", I mean stealing them. it's been said he recorded OU during their practice in the superdome before the '03 NCG, just like his mentor Belichick did to the Rams, and it's not hard to guess where he got them before playing LSU on 1.9. it would definitely explain the difference between the two games that year, and he's so obsessed with winning I have no doubt he would do whatever he could to prevent another loss to LSU.

his player development and game day prep is no better than other top 10 coaches. even with a very real talent advantage he's 0-3 vs the last 3 top 20 teams he's played.

One cheated on his wife while the other coach is an upstanding family man and coach.

Saban creeps me the frick out. When they interview him during games, he has a tendency to look into the camera, instead of the person who is doing interview or staring off into the distance like damn near all other coaches do. It's like he's trying to eat the viewers souls or something. Disturbing.

I feel very blessed that we have Miles, don't get me wrong, but I'm going to defend Saban just a bit.

Saban could have a dry wit and be a little more human with the players from what I understand. He wasn't just a damp rag who never said anything interesting, but I didn't have a want to listen to all his media appearances like I do with Miles.

He had a good tirade this season about how he's not really interested in what offensive linemen are doing.

Everything in his life seems to be about him and his career and it's all about that ambition that he has. I don't know if "happy" is the right word, but I think he's content with his lot in life or he'd do something else. He's not about making people feel warm and fuzzy for sure.

I think an example of his lack of interpersonal awareness was the decision to go to Alabama. He seemed genuinely surprised that LSU fans found that offensive, and then he still didn't seem to understand why we didn't just forgive and forget once Miles got here and the wins kept coming.

Friend of mine is friends with late Mal Moore. Mal Moore was flying with Saban after the hire. He said to Saban, "I think Alabama just hired the best coach in America..." Saban answered, "I don't know about that. But I do think you got the best recruiter..."

I think that shows a humility and confidence on the part of Saban. Saban is more driven than CLM. And I've got to tell you, watching CLM at the presser after Ole Miss was amazing for me. He came across as a man who lays down his life for his team. I love the guy. And I wouldn't trade him for Saban for anything in the world. CLM is a class act. Saban too. But CLM fits our wacky Louisiana culture in a way no one else could.

Listening to LSU fans vilify Nick Saban is as bad as listening to hyper-partisan political hacks.

It's OK to give the "other guy" respect/credit. It's actually a sign of integrity.

I never hung out with either coach so I'd rather the one that wins more games

Even though I was not an LSU fan when Saban was here, I have to respect the man. As for Kiffin, I hope some frats bros get the piss balloons ready and their arms warmed up for a crotch shot or two. I would love to see kiffin with piss stained pants on the side line
