NegaPel time: What was negative about last night?

On the court...not talking about some of the stuff in the Arena like no stats and the like.
1) Jrue was obviously extremely rusty offensively. He played good Defense and got in more of a rhythm as the game went on, but he just wasn't doing much on that end of the court.
2) Free Throws. We know that Asik is going to be bad at them. But this team was abysmal last night. If they shoot even 70% from the line, this game is even more of a blowout. Even Ryno missed his first two. Rivers still bricked a few. That has to improve.
3) This is nitpicking, but Tyreke, once again, gets tunnel vision on the break and when he penetrates. He needs to get better at, on occasion, passing it to an open runner.
4) 3 Point Shooting. Outside of Ryno, it was pretty damn bad. Jrue, EG, Jimmer and Rivers need to knock those down at a respectable rate for this team to compete with good competition.
5) John Salmons and the backup SF. This has already been discussed a bunch, but this is a massive hole in a team that I really like otherwise. They have to find some production there with a player on the roster or via trade.
I'm not trying to be negative. WAY more positives than anything else. Monty didn't even piss me off. The game was awesome last night and I had a blast. This team will be fun as hell to watch. Just opening up more discussion.

That "pass" on the break...

From what I heard in the pre season I thought they were going to be good at 3 pointers. I was quite disappointed last night.
Also Jimmer looked pretty bad.

When I'm at the game, I find it difficult to determine who is playing great Defense and who isn't, so I just didn't notice EG's to be honest.

Apparently everything but AD according to this article. LINK
My biggest negative takeaway was Holiday. I think someone said he said he was at 80% before the game. Why isn't he at 100% yet? Does it take that long to get into playing shape?
I'm also not sure what to make of Gordon. I like that he's quicker and hustling effectively on defense, but he needs to get back in the ball park of 20 points per 36 minutes if he's going to opt out or get traded.

Gordon has always been a "he scores or he's useless" player. He had 4 rebounds, his career average is 2. 2 blocks and steals last night vs. career averages of 0.3 and 1.1. He also has always seemed to avoid physicality on defense, he was mixing it up last night and one of his blocks I'm surprised he didn't get a foul on because after the clean block he kneed the guy coming down.

Gordon has to be the worse guard I ever seen on a fastbreak.

Free throws.
Monty taking out AD with 2 minutes left to get the triple double.

We allowed the Magic to get a lead on us early with Oladipo out of the picture.

That's on Evans and Holiday as much as Gordon. He hardly touched the ball on offense.

i'll agree with that. about midway thru the 1st i dont think he had even touched the ball. he wasnt moving without the ball much though, just running straight to a corner and standing there
honestly i dont know what to make of gordon at this point. there doesnt seem to be anything that he does on offense that others cant do better. the whole time watching the 2nd unit flail around, i was thinking why doesnt monty sub in gordon with them? he'd get to handle the ball, creat, and take shots

Id say outside of the frontcourt, we were pretty disappointing. But you know what, stud players carry their teams when the other players have off nights, and that is what Davis did.

I agree, but Asik and Anderson were good enough that they shouldn't be thrown out with the bath water for the sake of a more clickable headline.
