Why are blacks vilified for not toeing the Obama line?

A local state rep candidate was on a talk show here this morning and just raked over the coals by the callers because she didn't just fall in line with the Democratic party line.
Her classic response to each one of "we've been doing it this way for 50 years and it's not working, why not try something different? They had no response to her for that except piss and vinegar.
I don't get it.

Because when someone questions your belief system, you defend it until death.
Even if the facts are true like "We've been doing it this way...", most people are too emotionally attached to their beliefs that they cannot change.
Which is sad because the more intelligent blacks in the community realize they are just being used by Democrats as a meal ticket with the majority being too stubborn to change.
Same reason nothing changes in their communities.
Not until a REAL leader comes along and refocuses their attention will they change.

what makes you think race was a factor?

Oh, the stories I could tell...

If that's @ me DS, I never said race was a factor and don't think it was. The candidate is black and is being vilified by blacks. How could it be race?

They marched for Trayvon Martin.
They rioted "for" Michael Brown.
Stop looking for reason or rationale. I was listening to a radio show yesterday while I was driving, and a black man who called in was ranting about the Michael Brown "injustice". The host reminded him that all the facts which had come out so far had corroborated the officer's account of things.
The caller went crazy and said, "There you go with the facts."
Obama wrongly spoke up on behalf of Henry Gates, Trayvon Martin, and Obama also wrongly threw America under the bus when he mentioned the Ferguson situation in a speech before the U.N.
Sadly, that's what resonates with the overwhelming majority of black people. Facts be damned.

Fixed, for all you English majors....
And, I'm hardly "blacksessed." I actually try to understand different points of view and am just not getting my hands around this one.

Ditto. I wonder how many of the "black" threads are actually started by black/minority posters

Personally i'm just having fun with the blacksessed thing.
The truth is black people are underinformed as voters, just like the average American, unfortunately. Compound that with social pressure to vote Dem and it's a vicious cycle.
That's an oversimplification, of course, but there it is. Working hard every year to change that. If you vote Dem, you vote Dem, but make an informed choice no matter how you cast your ballot.
