They rioted "for" Michael Brown.

Stop looking for reason or rationale. I was listening to a radio show yesterday while I was driving, and a black man who called in was ranting about the Michael Brown "injustice". The host reminded him that all the facts which had come out so far had corroborated the officer's account of things.

The caller went crazy and said, "There you go with the facts."

Obama wrongly spoke up on behalf of Henry Gates, Trayvon Martin, and Obama also wrongly threw America under the bus when he mentioned the Ferguson situation in a speech before the U.N.

Sadly, that's what resonates with the overwhelming majority of black people. Facts be damned.

Until blacks will only march, protest and defend a person of high moral character versus a young troubled teen who got himself killed, nothing will change.

I do not understand the bond black people have for people actions that are not worthy of such blind loyal devoted support.

Why aren't black people out in the streets proclaiming "Don't try to take an officer's gun while he is sitting inside his car, you might get yourself killed!"

But instead we see "hands up, guns down"

What a shame... Black people should be ticked off for being used... but they think whites and police are just out to get them.

Their own people are perpetuating this problem.

Wisdom and common sense are missing because PC is ruling the day..

Don't be disappoint. At the rate you're starting threads today, chances are you'll start one of substance so that I can respond in kind.

What are some of the steps you take to change the mindset Tbird? I'm really curious about this issue, especially here at election time.

Blacks I've talked to can't name a single piece of Obama pushed legislature that's positively impacted their lives yet they still would follow him if he decided to invade hell. It absolutely blows my mind.

So you come to an OVERWHELMINGLY majority white male message board to gain perspective regarding blacks. Makes perfect sense.

Cliche as it sounds, it starts by opening up conversation one person at a time. Grassroots is the only way to change a mindset such as this. Some of my peers and younger are starting to get it. It's all about impressing upon the voter to take their electing voice seriously and honestly evaluate what issues they want to see upheld, THEN selecting a candidate, not just blindly casting their vote for whoever has a "D" (or an "R") by their name.

For the record, I'd be just as alarmed if 95% of those who share my ethnicity voted Republican, as well. That percentage is just too high either way given how much variance is present on the socioeconomic spectrum, IMO.

When you have President who has wrongly played the race card regarding Henry Gates, Trayvon Martin, and Michael Brown, a President who blamed his 15% approval rating decline in YEAR FIVE on race, when you have a football coach fired because the kids were eating watermelon after games, when you have black people refusing to listen to the facts about what happened in Ferguso, MO, etc, etc, etc.

Yes, it's real easy to jump on a message board and "invent" a word like blacksessed in order to avoid talking about the facts of a matter, but the truth is, a lot of Americans are tired of having this stupid, phony bullshite thrown in their faces every day.

Here's another question that everybody will dismiss. When are black people EVER going to be on the right side of any issue? You were made to look foolish regarding your support for Trayvon, your support for Michael Brown, and frankly, how many non-blacks do you think look at 95% of the black community STILL supporting Barack Obama and respect that?

I know my comments will be dismissed by some stupid comment like "blacksessed," but I would rather be able to truthfully discuss the facts, as opposed to being reduced to typing catchphrases in order to avoid discussing the truth.

Can the whites name a single piece of legislation they didn't try to filibuster?

A great example of the disingenuous right is Gitmo. For 6 years they've criticized Obama for not closing it and each time he tries to close it they block him. Now he's threatening to close it by EO and they're furious.

Thanks for the reply Tbird. I've often wondered if it were indeed race, because let's face it; people do like to support one of their own. Why in the world wouldn't more blacks support Allen West, or Ben Carson, or Herman Cain, many of the growing number of black conservative politicians.

You clearly don't want honest discussion. You just want to vent bc you're angry and emotional.

Your daily mantra of race-baiting lies have picked up another canard. The coach was not fired for the players eating watermelon. He was fired (and the rehired) because the players were drawing faces on the watermelons with stereotypical black features and named it the same name as a local black leader and were making monkey sounds.

I can't figure if you're this ignorant or just trolling.

I guarantee you most whites can name Barry legislation that's hurt them and their families. Or at least all of the ones I've asked about it can name some.

My dad is chairman of a GOP club in Aggieland. I was homeschooled growing up and one of the books I was my siblings and I were required to read was "Gifted Hands" by Dr. Carson. It starts by having folks like my parents questioning why the status quo regarding the black constituency is what it is, and then doing some soul-searching to see if one's personal values align with those being presented by the various political platforms of the day. In the (not too distant) past, it behooved minorities to block vote, or their interests would most certainly have no voice. America has come a long way in a relatively short period of time--it is no longer strictly necessary for all black people to vote one way. This isn't the sharecropper era, and the civil rights movement, while highly productive in it's time, is no longer the pressing issue of the day. Likewise, black people come from so many eclectic backgrounds inconceivable in the past.

In a way, it's understandable why block voting for black people has lingered, but it's high time we re-evaluate our voting habits at the local level, lest whatever political voice we have end up being marginalized because it is a given.

Once again, a big bowl of NOTHINGNESS from ommg.

You're the one who never honestly discusses anything, dude. Sadly, your post above is a perfect example of your m.o.

Are you that afraid to actually discuss the substance of ANYTHING?

Is this similar to Congress negotiating a tax increase they want with a sitting President, then running against him because he broke his, "Read my lips, no new taxes!" pledge?

Just checking. We're not criticizing his decision to keep Gitmo open. We're criticizing his broken campaign promise.

It's called "politics" VB. Got to get you some of that on the poliboard.
