biggest game of the year coming up, and he just went 11 for 29 (37.9 percent) for 97 fricking yards. week before that: 12 for 25 (48 percent) for 148 yards. week before that: 11 for 25 (44 percent) for 158 yards.

just 1 TD in those games, with 2 INTs.

open your frickin eyes people, Mettenberger just doesn't have "it", and if you cant see that than your even dumber than "Less". we should cut our loses, bench his arse now and start getting ready for next year.

(and yes those are Zachs numbers in his first 8 games. his ninth was vs bama; he went 24 for 35, almost 70 percent, 1 TD, 0 INTs. of course some of you would have probably boo'd him off the field before that)

EDIT: for the dullards who can't figure this out, this is not a Jennings vs Mett comparison, it's not saying Jennings will be as good, it's not about Jennings vs Harris or any of that. the one and only point is that it's arrogant and dumb for people to say he'll never get better. he's inconsistent, obviously, but he's got every tool needed to be a very good QB. that doesn't mean he will be, but the potential is there. personally I still think Harris is next years starter and will be the better of the two eventually, but if you choose to ignore Jennings potential than it's for some reason other than him as a quarterback.

I see where you are going with this, and yes Jennings will have to step up and play his absolute best game of his young career. I believe in Jennings, lets just hope he can stay poised even if he makes a few mistakes.

I mean you can't really compare Cam's system to the system we had under Stud and Krag. That was hot garbage.

Also if Mett had a WR like Dural in 2012 he would have gone off. I know he had Jarvis and OBJ but they had the dropsies early in the season,a nd were significantly better in 2013. Plus Dural is more of a deep threat than either of them.

Bad comparison is bad. They are completely different QBs. For one Mett could throw a deep out and it would take AJ two throws to get the ball there.

The problem with your logic is that it ignores every single variable other than time in the system.

Some did.

If Jennings throws for 70% in any games left with 300 yds, I'll change my mind about him.

To be fair, going into the Bama game in 2012, we had seen Mett perform well early in the season. His first few games that year he he had completion percentages of 73%, 66%, and 77% so you knew that the ability was there, he just needed to get up to SEC speed. Jennings on the other hand has had only one game where he has thrown over 55% completion percentage. His best game is 61.1% against ULM. We have still yet to see Jennings do anything impressive as a starter, so it's hard to have faith that he will all of a sudden do against Ole Miss what he hasn't done in 8 games this year. In Mett's case, we were just hoping for him to return to the form he was early in the season.

Honestly, completion percentages so far have been 42%, 53%, 61%, 50%, 40%, 50%, 47%, and 50%. Do you really think it will be significantly better against the best pass rush in the country?

Are you really trying to compare Jennings to Mett? LOL. That's some funny shite. I mean, maybe their similar if you take Mett's arm strength, accuracy, and ability to read a defense away. Maybe. Also, one Mett had fricking Stud as his offensive coordinator and no QB's coach. Jennings has been tutored by one of the best QB coaches in history from the day he stepped on campus. This comparison is just ridiculous.
