Wow so the academic advisers become the fall guys for the entire athletic program. That's a joke! If I was any of those advisers I would be lawyering up for a big time suit against UNC for hanging em out to dry!

To be fair to UNC, how many schools have easy classes with no attendance requirements (or unenforced) where papers are graded softly?

The athletic angle is the only one I'm interested in. If it was set up with that purpose, it's a scandal. Normal kids gravitating to a known soft class is not news and happens everywhere.

This is what happens when sports become the primary focus of certain universities. There is no doubt in my mind that FSU pulls strings for Winston in similar fashion.

Roy Williams should be forced to resign or be fired. 3100 students! That is the very definition of lack of institutional control. Hell, Jim Tressel was forced to resign for covering up a couple of players getting free tatoos. USC had to forfeit their Reggie Bush trophy. UNC should be stripped of their national championship. I shouldnt be surprised by any of these stories anymore, but everytime one of these stories breaks, im still shocked.

But UNC is such high quality academic institution, surely they wouldn't let athletics take priority. That's only what SEC schools do.

I really can't believe that something shady was going on in an African and Afro-American Studies.

With that being said I hope a few players come out and say Roy Williams was involved, whether its a total lie or the truth. He needs to go down.

Rashad McCants is the one who kind of blew the whistle on this. He was going to be ruled ineligible to play and he said that Roy Williams stepped in and said "we are going to get your grades changed out" so could be eligible to play. Roy Williams knew exactly what was going on.

Meh. Every school has this. Hell, one of my 400 level history classes at Belhaven was show up first day, get syllabus, cone back next week, choose topic for research paper, then don't come back until the last day of scheduled class to turn in paper. That one paper made up 100% of the grade

Remember when Julius Peppers transcript got released? That seemed like ages ago.

Anyone who has taken ELRC has seen this at LSU but at least you had to show up for that class.

I thought this was already a well known fact? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere before that many UNC athletes can't even read or read at a 3rd grade level.
