I have not been, but I may try it this weekend. What are your recommendations?

It's all good. I've really never had a bad experience there, but bring your pocket book, they're kinda proud of their stuff.

I have heard they are expensive for a sandwich shop!

It is a bbq joint/sandwich shop.
On point for a bbq shop, even though they don't offer plates. Which is a mistake in my opinion.

Well, I think you can tell upon visiting that it's nothing like a Subway.
Here is the menu.
It's not really that far off in price from a poboy shop or something.
You spend $8-$10 for a chicken sandwich or deli meat club at Sammy's. This is $9-11 for a high quality sandwich with house made chips or pickles.

I thought it was good esp the Cuban. I always split a meal with the SO. We are out for under 15 and full.

Look at LL making a solid contribution. If you want cheap go to Subway or Jimmy Johns. It doesn't compare to Butcher but it's still pretty good.

Somehow, still haven't done Butcher. Rarely get quick bites when in the city.
BUT.
My favorite "sandwich shop" is Milk Bar.

Don't get the BLT. It's really a BBBBBBBlt. Worst sandwich I've ever had.

Theyre not cheap but the sandwiches are huge, and the homemeade chips are great. You will leave stuffed.

I wasn't that impressed...
I got the pulled pork with coleslaw and the homemade chips.
The pulled pork was flavorless, the coleslaw had no tang, and the chips needed a lot of salt, although none was on the tables...
It has a long ways to be Cochon Butcher.

Was about to say this. I ordered the blt with a fried egg.. Got the sandwich and it was a mound of chewy bacon with an egg sitting on top of, not in the sandwich.. How did they expect me to eat that properly? It was way salty and chewy, and the potato chips, while great texture were the saltiest chips I've had.
I liked the atmosphere of the place, the beer selection, the deli and sandwich options, but the one I had was rough

I liked the homemade chips, my only thing is I don't like the really small menu. Would prefer a platter than a sandwich
