All I've got is a sleeping bag and Off, but I'm cool stretching out in back of my truck. Beats couchsurfing and going to save my little funds for cool shite in cool cities at least until I can find me a hustle which I can usually do fairly easy.
Just wanting to pick yalls brains, what little you guys have at least.
I'll check back in later, I'm behind the wheel.

Texas is a big place, SS. Might need to be a little more specific. KOA camps?

It's going to rain all over East Texas until tomorrow afternoon... so that should narrow it down a bit.

Back when I was in Texas I was fond of Lost Maples state park. There's good primitive camping spots and this time of year with the leaves turning it should be spectacular.

Caprock Canyons State Park.
It's like a combination of the Grand Canyon, Zion, and Badlands all in one.
Best part is that there's hardly anyone there.

You can actually google free camping and find no and little cost primitive camping spots. There is one particular website but I can't remember it ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbanghead.gif)

Lost Maples state park, in the hill country, has 12 mile hiking loop with primitive camping along the way. Two "cold" natural springs along the trail. Maple trees should be orange this time of year.

Enchanted Rock is right outside of Austin. Primitive spots go fast so call first

Head to Terlingua Texas, plenty of primitive, remote, secluded places in Big Bend National and State Parks. You could park your truck around the area and sleep in it. Terlingua will give you a different perspective on life. I-10 West, a long way...and then south towards the border.
