Yes and we are in contention every freaking year.

This is the first time in a long time that we are going to have a down year. But some sunny-day fans cant handle that. Like the Bama fanbase calling for Saban to be replaced on the Bama board after Saturdays loss to Ole Miss. Lose 3 in a row to ranked teams and they suddenly want the best coach they've ever had gone. ]\

Miles, 10-year contract extension.

Well.......let's let them win it, first.........just because players get older, doesn't mean they necessarily get better....

Which one of them will play on the O or D line? We have to build there if we are going to compete for an SEC and national title. If not, then don't see us doing it.

Oh jeebus shut the frick up. That's just a retarded statement.

One could just as easily argue you'd rather us lose 3-4 per year forever than have us end up hiring someone else who does better. And yes, if one argued that, they'd be dumb.

Everyone in here wants LSU to be better. Sheesh.

It was never close because we had a true freshman qb starting his first game, on the road, against an SEC team that played for the NC last year and looks to be headed back there again.

Wrong. This is why you play other QBs throughout the year (last year). Jennings could have had a ton of PT and could have been a known quantity, great, good, poor, or bad by this point. If that happens, you know Jennings will play this season, or will back up Harris earlier, and you get it straight before a game like this "sneaks" up on you. It's not the players fault they weren't ready.

Is the offense boring? Yes. Does it need to be? Yes.

No it doesn't have to be. It could be much more open and not so predictable. On first down in the MSU game they pulled DB's and put in extra LBers. If Les doesn't have confidence in the QB's or others then they shouldn't be on the field or on the team. He wanted them and he got them. As long as he tries to mold the team to his system instead of altering the system to fit the team this type team will always emerge as a result. Brought down many a coach for refusing to change to get best out of players.

Nobody really wants Les fired. This would set the program back 2-3 years to have start over. That said, Les has to change. What was successful when the SECw was a two horse race is not going to be successful anymore. Les has to adjust to the changing times, is he able to do it?

If I may - here's my take on the whole Les Miles should he stay situation. Les is a fantastic recruiter. We have recruiting classes every year that most coaches only dream about. Alabama, Auburn and a few other SEC teams usually do as well. High school kids want to go to a school that will be in contention every year and that will be on TV frequently every season for exposure. LSU is a great place to be for both of those reasons.

However, as good a job as he does recruiting, Les drops the ball when it comes to player development and offensive strategy. Nick has Les beat in those 2 areas. Bama always seems to be able to reload each year and we can't.

Go back and look at the offensive game plan for the 2011 National Champ game. Even after a hugely unproductive 1st half, no real changes were made in the game plan to counter what had happened in the 1st half.

No one would debate that we have consistently had great defenses during Les' tenure. Awesome job. But if our offense cannot continue to improve, I'm not sure that we can compete in the SEC West with the likes of Auburn or MS State or TX A&M.

Then there's the clock management issues that continually repeat every year. No excuses for those.

Then there's Les' mindset. Is he really hungry? Does he want more or is he happy with his one ring and that's enough. He just seems too complacent at times. There's a guy at the helm of ULL right now that is young, hungry and has one of the best resumes around. I'd be willing to try a new guy with the drive and desire of getting to the Championship.

Anyone else echo these sentiments?

Nick was 1 second away from possibly going back to the SEC Championship and another Nat'L Championship last year. We certainly weren't even in consideration last year. Or the year before, or this year...
