Well lets forget the whole fact he still would have had to play the seccg, oh wait nevermind it's bama.

I want you to read this.

quote:

"It's like we were scared to lose," Fowler said. "Everybody wasn't playing their A-Game, they were just 'Oh, if we escape with a win we'll be alright.'"

quote:

Fowler said the practices leading up to the game told the story as Alabama wasn’t as sharp as it needed to be going into a game against a tough Ole Miss team. And Fowler said the lackadaisical practices aren’t uncharacteristic, because "it happens in practice all the time."

Nobody really wants Les fired. This would set the program back 2-3 years to have start over. That said, Les has to change. What was successful when the SECw was a two horse race is not going to be successful anymore. Les has to adjust to the changing times, is he able to do it?

This is the spot on.

No one is comparing Miles at LSU vs Nick at Alabama. Its fair to say at this point Nick has his program ahead of Miles'. Thats fair and correct. Nick finds himself in the same dang boat boys. He's gotta change as well. Its life the competition has caught up, they always do.
WHo ever we bring in here is going to have to deal with the same schedule. Maybe he can run this program after Miles or maybe he cant? So between can Miles change and can the new guy keep it going its quite the conundrum for some of u.

If u ever get thin and young at QB and neither one develops by the time the season starts, youre gone. Seems fair.

Give the Coaching Staff a break from criticism. I am certain that they are harder on themselves than any others could be. They are class folks with a burning desire to win and nurture the growth of their players. The record is pretty dog-gone good. I am glad that Les, the Chief and Cam are on board with Our Team

I see what you are saying, but under Miles we are almost always thin at QB. In his ten years he has recruited one legit starting SEC QB and that QB (Mett) was first identified by Richt, who has a proven track record

I agree and I understand what you are saying, but every team has skill players. Championships are won in the trenches. We need better players on the offensive and defensive lines. The offenses at LSU have been meh for a long time, but Les usually had a good defense to bail him out...which he doesn't have this year.

This!
The OL is the biggest disappointment since Perriloux.

This dude aint winning another NC at LSU. Make sure you go with him when he gets fired in a couple of years

Changes neeed to be made.

quote:

So we'll be in contention 2 years from now. We haven't been since 2012 and even then we lost 3 games, so we're the type of program that makes a run once every 4 years at best. Sweet.

quote:

Don't get your feelings hurt, we have the 7th best fans in the west. Goes along with our 7th best coach in the west.

quote:

They are not being coached up properly. What will the excuses be next year when LSU sinks further to the bottom of the SEC?

quote:

According to the Les apologists, if you don't love Miles then you don't love LSU. What a crock of shite! We won't win another SEC or NC as long as he's coaching at LSU.

quote:

I LOVE the way you just gave Miles a two year window to be completely garbage. So THIS is FINALLY the class to win it all, right? In 2016?? Awesome...can't wait

quote:

But after 10 years I don't know if Miles is capable of that.

quote:

u idiot, we want him fired becasue he can't manage the damn clock running on 10 years now....anyone that inept at something so simple should be fired on the spot

All the posters i copied want Les fired, what bubble have you been in? And guess what? that was only from the first two pages of this thread, i could keep going and find some more in this thread alone. we arent counting the thousands of posts since 2005 about wanting him gone either.

This is my first post. Hate that this season has drove me to post in the Tiger Rant section . I have never been a fan of Les Miles the entire time he has been the coach. I know that LSU has had a lot of success with Les as the coach. I can tolerate a lot of things when LSU wins. I can live with LSU running the ball way too much because it worked. Its sad seeing the talent LSU has at WR being wasted but if Miles can win without using them, im cool with it. I can live with him being a poor clock manager if he sneaks in a miracle play that works. I'd prefer a more conventional clock management style for sure lol. I can live with him being stubborn and sticking with upperclassmen if LSU wins. The key here is him getting the job done. I'll take a ugly win and be happy. I can also live with a tough loss. I am a pretty easy fan really. Les has always kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. I can appreciate the drama. If LSU getting its rear handed to them 2 weeks in a row doesn't upset you then I worry about you as a fan. This team has enough talent for Les to work with. I don't care how young the team is. If he can't make it work there is a problem. We are about to find out if he can work with what he has. Florida and Kentucky should be wins. Miles needs to fix this. I'll be watching and hoping he corrects this mess.

LSUFANDAN. thanks and I agree with much of your sentiment. I too don't care who our coach is or how boring his style or how ugly he wins. Just raise the championship banners over TS and I'm good.

Maybe he shouldve said no one with half a football brain wants Les fired. Seemed obvious to me what he meant.
To terminate Miles becasue what he did at LSu vs what Nick did at Bama is not a good argument. Good luck on hiring his replacement with this job description. Win 3/4 or be gone.
Hell I guess every coach should be fired if they must do better than Saban at Bama.
But please carry on.

Les has proved he can play for a title every 4 years. That has been proved.

He got the NC game after being in it four years earlier. That is not proof that he can do it EVERY four years. That would be like saying Saban has proved he can win three out of every four national championships. It happened once. That is not proof that it'll happen every time.

we are in contention every freaking year.

If you stretch the definition of "in contention" enough, everybody is in contention every year. In 2013, we were out of the NC race for all practical purposes before the halfway point of the season, and we were out of contention for everything before November. And that was before we even faced our toughest game, in which we got blown out. That doesn't look like "in contention" to me. We certainly weren't in contention in 2008, 2009 and aren't this year. So, even if you call 2010 and 2012 being in contention, that's only three of the past seven years. One BCS bowl appearance (a 21-0 loss) in seven years isn't what you expect from a perennial contender.
