I turned off my TV after the first 30 minutes of that abortion. I heard Trey Quinn took a huge hit and the Auburn player was ejected for targeting. Does anyone have a gif or video?

It was an unnecessary hit, but it was clean and he shouldn't have been ejected. Led with shoulder pads. Still should have been a late hit call.

It doesn't matter what he led with, you can't hit a defenseless receiver in the head.

I think it should have been a penalty but I don't know about the ejection.

Doesn't matter. Defenseless receiver. Ejection.

- football where hits like that are illegal
- no football at all

Choose 1. You can't have both.

The powers that be have wisely realized that it's just not worth it to put peoples lives at risk.

Miles needs to write a strong letter to the sec about this player. He should be sat even longer for his behavior

it would have been a personal foul 10 years ago most likely b/c he took 2-3 steps before the hit

It wasn't clean. You can't hit a defenseless receiver above the shoulders. Doesn't matter what you hit him with. Whether it's your helmet, your shoulder pads, your arm, your fricking foot, you can't hit a defenseless receiver high. Why do people not understand this very simple concept?

They want to blame the qb for the throw and the coach for calling the pass play.

I understand the rules as they are written but I don't fault the defender.

If you watch it in real time he had like 2/10ths of a second from when the receiver was grasping for the ball to when they make contact.

It's expecting a lot for the defender to make a decision and then be able to act on it in that short a time frame.

I think it was definitely late and on a defenseless receiver, but I don't necessarily think it was targeting and grounds for ejection.

Most people are morons with a "might as well put me in dresses!" Attitude about football because they don't mind seeing kids get their brain scrambled if it's entertaining. By the rules I was illegal, and rules that keep these guys from becoming vegetables later in life are good things.

The refs took the appropriate action. The penalty was assessed and the kid was kicked out of the game.

most people seem to think you have to lead with the crown of your helmet for that penalty to be called, which is not the case
