For those lurkers reading the OT. Dont listen to this guy. Nothing wrong with talking to your friendly neighborhood police officer. If you are a law abiding citizen then there is nothing to fear. If you have made a mistake in judgment and think you may possibly get in trouble then why not face up to it and start the road to redemption. Remeber, although police are paid, they chose the profession because they want to help. They want to help those in need whether it be a victim, or a misguided person who has made a few bad decisions.

I'm just skeptical of reality shows in general is what I'm saying.
You got me curious and I did a quick search of "is the first 48 fake" and found this article.
F 48 makes millions off imprisoning innocent
quote:
The tragedy inflicted upon this wrongfully accused man, however, is only the latest injustice in this show's history. In Detroit, city police shot a 7-year-old girl in the head in a bungled attempt to catch a suspect on The First 48. In Houston, another man was locked up for three years after cops wrongfully accused him of murder within the first 48 hours. And in Miami, according to a New Times examination of court records, at least 15 men have walked free of murder charges spawned under the program's glare.
I don't know what the show has to do with cops bungling an investigation but I thought it was mildly amusing. Another article claimed it was racist for the same stuff and for most of the suspects being black.

I'd be a terrible cop.
"Josh, are you going to the bar?"
*whispers to lawyer*
"My client has decided that he will spend the night in."

What's the main demographic of suspects in that show.

I mostly do a lot of social media detective work and receive information from informants.

They were eventually released and the show said the case was still open.
Shows that end like that are like getting a softy mid-pounding Such a freaking letdown.

I know the main Birmingham detective on pre-2013 episodes.

They tape a Bunche of cases and only show you the ones that confess / are solved. Would be boring TV to watch a guy asking for his lawyer.
