Best app for daily reminders?
Google Keep doesn't have that option it seems.

The shadowy overlords at Google must be masturbating furiously over this new surge of user data they're getting from me.

I'm loving this phone. I haven't taken out encryption to make it even faster, but I don't really plan on it. I have everything set up the way I want it and I don't want to go through that for a 3rd time

You can use lightflow to control the led light

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Need to look into how to do that and see if there is really a noticeable difference.
If it involves wiping the phone I suppose I should do what CAD suggested and install the stock Google rom

Another thing I need to bitch about. Not the Nexus's fault, but AT&T's or Apple's I reckon...
With iMessage, I was 100% reliably sending and receiving texts. Now, some aren't arriving. Yes, iMessage is turned off on my iPhone.
Today, I had to pick up my son from daycare because he was running 103 fever. Daycare called Wife, wife tried to text me. Didn't get them until a fricking hour later. They all arrived in one big cluster. Wife couldn't call because she had to watch her students in the library (elementary teacher), and she just assumed the texts would be fine since they've always been.
Actually, now that I think about it, it may because she didn't fricking listen to me when I told her to delete me from her SMS history completely... She's still using an iPhone, and I bet it's trying to send every message as an iMessage, and then when that fails, it turns into a regular SMS, but from my experience, that's extremely unreliable and can take hours to go through.
I can't call her out for not listening to me though because today is her birthday.

Some of the best advice CAD has given on this board. Vanilla android is so much better than anything the service providers or manufacturers put on it. My S4 is so much better now without the ATT/Samsung shite (although I know the latter does not really apply to nexus devices).

Yeah I just rooted it and removed the AT&T boot animation and removed the forced encryption, thing flies!

There is a website by apple to remove yourself from Imessage. They put it up a couple weeks ago. Did you ever use that?

I do have vanilla android. The only additions are two AT&T apps (removable) and the logo at boot (already removed). But CAD has a point that AT&T Nexus phones may not get OTA updates nearly as fast as ones from Google. I need to verify that.

It will get the updates when any other Nexus gets them, Google has already said the Nexus' from carriers are not modified and will receive OTA updates like an iPhone does, carrier doesn't matter.

I didn't need to. That's only for people who forgot to do that and no longer have their iPhone. I still have my iPhone and it's one of the first things I did when I activated my Nexus. The problem here is my wife still has an iPhone and months/years of SMS history, and the "chat window" or whatever you wanna call is probably still trying to send messages to me as iMessages, and then converting them to standard SMS only when the iMessage fails. I've seen it happen in rare instances where iMessage was down or signals were too low. It can take hours or sometimes never arrive.

Fug OTA updates. Burn a vanilla rom and stay up with its thread on XDA for updates.

Good, that settles that. No need to flash the factory image then.
Oh, by the way... thank your lucky stars you got your phone today. Did you see this shite? LINK /
