I knew a few of the guys when I was there and they weren't bad. I always hoped they would pull out of the rut like we did. My guess is they don't have much alumni support. The one here at Nicholl's is the same. I had an employee that was a TKE and I offered to go over some of the things that worked really well for us. No one took me up on that.

Pike has a few losers from my high school. Phi Psi is kinda gay.
But really, Theta Chi or Phi Iota should be mentioned more.

Well, yall should be embarrassed by some of your brothers.
Like the ones who got beat the frick up by me and my friends during a hurricane Ivan party.
Outnumbered us 3-1 and still got their asses kicked.

When I was at Nicholls in the early-mid 90s TKE had a 100+ man chapter, which is enormous by Nicholls standards. Now they have like 10 guys

1) I wouldn't blame J. Sanders/A. Guillory for all of our "current problems." Greek Life has only grown under their tenure; they've also cautiously kept our risks at bay during this period too. Compare our PR to Alabama's the past 2-3 years. It's been a complete nightmare for their IFC/etc. I know both well & don't agree with many things they have done but have to give them credit for many aspects too. In regards to not allowing kegs & etc, that's a national rule for 99% of fraternities.
2) We are building a new sorority house on campus for the first time in 30 years and the expansion team is adding an additional sorority on campus next year. With 25+% of girls involved in Greek Life, 100+ pledge classes, the addition of Alpha Phi wasn't enough to meet the demand.
3) What we've seen at Alabama the past 5 or so years is absolutely insane & somewhat contrived. Over the past decade, they've literally experienced a $200+ million greek housing building boom that's been financed by public debt. LSU isn't taking this route & the momentum has clearly been in their court for a few years. At LSU, most fraternities have to front the cost of their housing costs (however, the new Alpha Phi house currently being built will be owned by LSU Residential Life & will be rented to Alpha Phi).
4) I wouldn't consider Alabama's greek life superior to ours in any way shape or form other than by houses (which I agree plays a huge role in perception). Their state has just made a commitment in helping secure financing for their greek system while Louisiana is giving money to businesses to relocate here.
5) Kappa Sig is breaking ground on this bad boy soon btw

Just wait until Kappa Sig's house is complete. Rush is going to turn into a fight over the kids KS doesn't want, cause they'll get everyone they desire.

Pike is embarrassingly bad. Phi Psi isn't bad. Theta Chi knows their place and doesn't try to act otherwise. I'd say TKE or Phiota are the worst. I actually get kind of excited when I see a TKE because they're like an endangered species.

LSU greek life blows compared to Alabamas. I go visit my friend whose a Kappa sig over there and its night and day. Pathetic how shitty it is over here.
that is what happens when the University doesn't stress it and cock blocks everything.

Does Phiota even count?

I would blame Jonathan Sanders, I was on IFC and it is freaking gay the bullshite that he got upset over.

I would rather have the houses owned by the frat/sororities than the university. I also like how LSU each frat house is unique and not a cookie cutter copy of every other house on campus. However LSU frats do need to spend some $$$ fixing up their houses. KE is about to build a new one, KA has plans and is in the process of making the current house match the footprint of the old house (courtyard, bandroom, new chapter room, and alot more rooms), I head some of my EX friends taking about them redoing their house.
KE building the new house is making old row get up off their arse.

nobody makes their decision on the house. It is usually family connections and who they feel like they fit in with.
