Borderline robbery in itself.

Na, I've always lived here. I'm actually one block south of where that robbery occurred.

2000 S. Claiborne is at the intersection of MLK. That is not uptown either.

I drive through that intersection on the way to work every day. If I was ever driving that early in the morning, I would be hitting the gas and running the light before anyone could approach my vehicle.

Still pretty scary to be carjacked at 730pm on a Saturday in an area you should feel safe.
Not sure how anyone can live on the south side of Lake P and feel safe...

meanwhile I went to a Tex-Mex restaurant at a strip mall and a delightful time was had by all.
in the late 90's while working in Houston, went to an old converted full service garage right off Richmond (late 90's still safe) ave - had the best Tex-Mex food around - my companion was a female engineer from Austin by way of San Juan, P.R. - I thought I would throw that in - being with a female I know turns you off.

Nope, always felt relatively safe here, though.

What time is it acceptable to begin carjacking and robbing?

Its been10 years, but I used to live at 1415 Peniston. Great neighborhood, but like every other neighborhood uptown, still close to bad areas. The 1200 block is what, the block after Magazine? Once you cross Magazine you're in the hood.

ETA: actually I lived at 1124 Peniston. Bad memory. So disregard all of the above, lol. 1200 block would be right before Prytania.

Think it's like 3 blocks toward Prytania from Mag.
So, with the TU a fake, that leaves us with only one in Uptown.
