Pat Forde pointed out how empty the stands were at the end of the game Saturday, and called LSU fans "the quickest to get off a sinking ship." On Moscona's show today he pointed out that LSU fans have become spoiled, and that Tiger Stadium and the fans have lost their edge. The stadium is great for a big-game atmosphere when LSU is good, but otherwise it's not what it once was.

Name any other place where that wouldn't be true. When it comes to being a fan, "loyal to the end" is a sucker's mentality. Loyalty should be a two-way street, but when it comes to how fans are treated, it's only one-way. So why shouldn't fans bail, especially when the coaching staff shows a stubborn refusal and/or inability to adjust?

LSU spends too much money on football and mistreats its fans way too much for its fanbase not to demand anything but the best.

How does LSU mistreat its fans?

Agree - It's time to play "new school" football! We got beat by MSU because they have changed..... Tigers have not. I'm sure our O-line and RB's love it, but it is VERY easy to defend, and it's got to change to keep up with 2014 football.

We should try a drop kick to top off the Les Miles philosophy!!!

Our fans are incredibly ignorant and very spoiled to think that we are the only fans in the world regardless of sport that leaves games early, especially those where the home team is getting its teeth kicked in for 95% of the game.

On the 1st third down of the second half, LSU down 17-10, the stadium was easily the loudest it had been since Bama 2012.
funny that all the people posing for #1 fan don't mention this

We need a good 10 yr Curley run. 5 -7 win years, excited for any bowl.
Shake off some of these whining arse punk fans that can't take a flat game or just getting our asses kicked by a team that came into our stadium and whipped us.
Personally , I think it's the best thing that could have happened. Kill all the egos early and get to practice scared to lose again. You want some focus around practice, lose a game you thought was a pushover. Been there, sucks.
Toughen up you bunch of pansy asses.

I agree with an earlier poster, TS will never be the same, with the exception of 1, mabe 2 games a yr. Just consider the current student body, a large majority of whom, in the past, have ended up being season ticket holders & loyal LSU fans. The student body, going back the past 4-5 yrss, is used to leaving at halftime now, & very few have made it all the way through to the 4th quarter. This is a habit that will be hard, if not impossible to break. But it is not all on the student body. I sit on the 40 yrd line & from my view, those seats on the opposite side have been emptying at half time for yrs now. For many of the "older" fans, a game in TS is much like the Grove at O. Miss, a cock tail party, where being seen is the "in" thing, and no one stays at any cocktail party for 3 hrs. The "younger" fans are more into partying at their tailgate & at the drop of any excuse, bail out of the stadium to continue their party. TS itself used to be the party. Cost, too, is a major factor; as an example, my best friend used to live & die at LSU games, and he brought up his 3 kids to feel the same way. He got priced out of his seats several yrs ago, as the cost for 5 tickets got out of his price range. Now, his 3 kids, adults , are dropping out, too, with their own families to worry about. So that is 2 generations of Tiger fans, in 5 seats, that LSU has lost for good. That is happening all over the stadium. Let LSU win only 4-5 games one yr, and just ask the Gators how easy that is to do, and TS will look like a tomb. Lost fans are lost fans for good.

Again, this is not unique to LSU. Schools across the country (and many professional teams) are hiring firms to come in to try to fix this problem. I have a friend that works for one of these companies.

I think/hope you are right. The players and coaches should be PISSED about the debacle in TS last Saturday night....Completely unacceptable!! This weeks practices were hopefully as hard and ugly as it gets. I even hope a few fights between players happened to show some anger in all these blue chippers who think their next stop is in the pros making millions before making the first tackle, handoff, block or pass.

Exhibit A of why a sizeable portion of the fanbase sucks.

Being a fan of college football has to mean something more than simply winning. It's about the hope and optimism, the pagentry, the ups and the downs. Otherwise just go follow whoever's on top of the college football world every year.

I've been to Aubrun games in Auburn in your "down years" in the past 10 years and there were thousands of empty seats and place was dead. I've also been when y'all are good and place is rocking.

But yeah LSU is the only place this ever happens.

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. What you are arguing isn't logical at all and, perhaps more egregiously, misstates the original premise.

If you would rather be the best fan base and never win anything over being a bit spoiled because you have won stuff, you are the reason that a sizable portion of the fanbase sucks.

For 5 years every single opponent's dreams died in tiger stadium.

If an opponent is ranked number 1 in the country they have no dreams because they already achieved being number 1 and you cannot dream bigger than being number 1.
