I'm convinced that anyone using the Phil Fulmer angle to rip Miles

Is likely walking around with an abnormal 21st chromosome.
"Derp, Welp Phil Fulmer sure was good at ole Tennessee for a bit and we see how that worked out!!!"
Oh you mean the part where Tennesse fired a former NCAA champion coach and are now clawing every year to not be a bottom feeder in the shitty SEC East? VANDERBILT has had some better recent years than Tennessee folks.
My God.

Eh, he had two losing seasons in his last four at UTe. The game had passed him by. The fact that UTe couldn't bring in a competent replacement is an independent problem.

They let him stay to long. When the writing is on the wall don't ignore it.

I think this every time people want Miles fired. Terrible argument, I bet Tennessee fans would've loved to have kept him all these years and consistently been a 9 or 10 win team instead of the crap they have been through since they fired him.

The fact is, they've never been the same. The grass is always greener on the other side with a new coach. Few work out but many more fail.
No one has ever given me realistic LSU candidate since Miles got here that is a sure fire upgrade.

More trust in his players is a good start.

It's an extra 21st. Doesn't have to be abnormal.

Jim Mora, Jr.
David Shaw
Larry Fedora
James Franklin
Would be tough to lure Shaw or Mora away, but Fedora and Franklin would come to LSU in a heartbeat.

Sometimes guys stay too long and lose their edge, it happens.
Fulmer, Bowden, Coker, Tuberville, etc.
So I can see the comparisons.
But you are right about one thing...it all depends on who you hire as a replacement. Make the right hire, and its brilliant (see forcing out Bowden and replacing him with Fisher). Make the wrong hire, and its disastrous (see forcing out Cutcliffe for Orgeron or Fulmer for Kiffin.
It is a calculated gamble with enormous danger.

Jim Mora would be a Grade A high. Worried about his emphasis on D doe.

Fulmer couldn't recruit any more
It was time for him to go

Extra chromsomes would be considered an abnormality.

Down syndrome results from an abnormality on chromosome 21. People with Down syndrome may have three copies of this chromosome throughout the body (trisomy 21), or they may have three copies in some but not all cells (mosaic trisomy 21), or some of the genetic material from chromosome 21 may have become attached to a different chromosome (translocation trisomy 21).

Exactly.
Not a single one of those guys is guarenteed step-up from Les.
It's absurd man.

but they're all more in touch with the game than ole Leslie. Face it. Les has never moved on from Bo's philosophy.
It's ok though. It'll get us to the Chicken Bowl every year.

Really?
UCLA has won all of their games so far and did so in such horrible fashion that they dropped in the polls. No thanks.
Shaw is a good coach, I will admit, but Stanford this year doesn't look like the Stanford from the past couple of years.
Larry Fedora? Seriously?
While Franklin did well at Vanderbilt, no thanks.

If being in touch means giving up 70 points and like 40 first downs to East f'ing Carolina I would rather keep the Bo philosophy.
But I do like Mora.
