I got loaded at bayou bash few years ago and tried to get Linda moor house to come meet me after it was over.
She fine.

What you're seeing is a band full of Roy recruits now. Every single Wickes and Moorhouse recruit is gone from the program.
Except for the drum major.

I don't usually notice that much, but halftime did suck. How about a little effort and creativity from the band director. 2 lousy songs?
And I love Tiger Rag, but put Touchdown for LSU back in after TDs. We already spell out TIGERS immediately following a TD. I thought it was a first game mistake by a new drum major or something, but it has continued. It seems stupid to do it after the TD and again after the extra point. Play it during other spots. Plus I always enjoy the LSU chants that come when they play Fight for LSU after a TD.

Request denied. Tiger Rag is awesome.

I love Tiger Rag, just not basically twice in a row.
And I know the abbreviated version is just played after the TD, but we spell out TIGERS both times.

Have no idea if it was correct but the radio broadcast said they couldn't play as long because Moo St. was getting the football after half.

I've never heard that before.

quote:A LOT of people are taking notice and agreeing with this. (Students, common every day fans, Alumni, BAND Alumni, BR radio sports talk hosts) The word is getting out. Roy King is the Larry Porter of the college marching band world and is totally in over his head as DOAB.
On that note. The fricking band was awful. The most boring thing I've seen in a long time and I actually like to watch paint dry.

What if they did a halftime show that feature Journey or something like that? How would the haters react? That is an 80's band at least
Students weren't even born then. Thumbs down on Journey.

Journey would be great. Even though the STTDB crowd wasn't born yet, they all know "Don't Stop Believin"....in fact, I bet they would all sing along.

Might even have kept fans in the stadium this past Saturday.

We did a Journey show in 2006, it was the first show of the season.
As a member during the Wickes/Moorhouse years I can tell you there was no "discipline" or anything like that in the band during halftime rehearsals. During pregame, yes because Wickes would really run those, but halftime people would be talking all the time, sitting down, terrible marching technique all the time, and would just kind of get through the rehearsal. Not everyone mind you, but a good amount of people.
The music was never memorized, back then (I don't know how it is now) almost every person on the field had music in front of them (yes, even drumline). This did two things, first it made us sound awesome because everyone could read their music while playing/ Second, though, it made us look a little less professional than some of the other bands that would do purely memorized shows. Not saying either is right or wrong but they might be making the students memorize their music and some of them just aren't stepping up.

At this point I'd rather watch people throw the football through Dr Pepper cans at halftime than see another GBFTL halftime show.
I'm usually a huge band supporter but this shite has to go.
