Mike Detillier was just on espn radio here in Jackson, MS and is pretty confident that MSU is going to beat LSU. He gushed about how this was LSU's best secondary ever but that State's front 7 was going to shut LSU's offense down. How Dural was fast but that he wouldn't be able to make a big enough difference. He's always been high on Chris Jones at MSU. It seems he has his stance on a team or player and rides it just because.

He comes the radio show here once a week and it seems like based on what he says, that he doesn't actually watch any games but just grabs the headlines or quick hits and then runs with his opinion. I guess its just surprising because he's supposed to be some local, LA, expert on LSU and Saints.

lol

It's going to be a close game. People will pick MSU. It's not crazy.

This is my concern for the game. Through three games we have not shown the willingness to keep defenses honest (well, maybe against Sam Houston, but does that even count?). If ULM can stiffle our running game, I fear that the Bulldogs may as well.

Not saying that they will, just that I'm concerned about it.

if lsu comes out and plays sloppy i could see one thinking it'll be close at the end and maybe state squeaking out a win

but to come out and be confident that MSU will beat LSU....that seems like he's trolling for hits

Not too worried, he picked the Saints over the Browns in a rout last week as well. Not sure why he thinks Mississippi St. can shut down LSU's offense, they're averaging giving up almost 400yds to some pretty crappy teams.

Listening to a conversation between him and Bobby more than 30 seconds can cause permanent brain damage, seriously.

i remember the last 5 years when people preached what a tough game state was going to give us. Most of those ended in 40+ point beat downs.

I'm not drinking that kool aid. Tigers win 42-17

I love that we have a QB who is not afraid to just let it fly.

Based on their performances versus the mammoth rushing attacks they've played this year, right?

I guess he's also ignoring the other receivers then.

Sounds like he's doing his best to make a case against us. Weird.

This is probably the most nervous I've been for a Miss State game in a long time. I think it's going to be a good game and come down to a big stop in the 4th to seal the win.

This "expert" also thought the Saints would win handily in Atlanta. He's no more an expert than posters on this board.

if they are ever going to beat us this is a good chance. our front 7 is not real good and their front 7 is going to force Jennings to beat them in the air.

LSU QB play will determine this one.
I think State is good enough to put up some points on LSU D.
If we get the first half QB play of Wiscy game, LSU will be in trouble.
If Miles is stubborn and doesn't let QB take some chances they could lose.
LSU is also one injury away to Jennings from really being in trouble, I do think Harris still has more upside but so far he does not look ready.

State does have a really solid front 4. If our offensive line blocks the same as it has been the first three games, we could have some problems early on. However, we still may be able to wear them out in the 2nd half.

We're gonna need to force a few turnovers.

From past history to now it makes zero sense for a media member to pick Miss St. over LSU, especially at home unless they're just looking to grab attention, and this thread has given MD attention. So it worked for him.

Did he talk about the passrush up the middle and blowing up the launch pad?

His opinion is not far fetched.

Every game in the SECW is dangerous.
