Chicago red line train from 35th down to 95th.
Also had to stop at a gas station in Gary, Indiana.
Honorable mention: tailgating at Legion Field in Bham.
Those are some pretty damn rough neighborhoods. I take Stoney Island Avenue to get to the toll road when I want to avoid the Dan Ryan traffic when I need to leave the city, and even as much traffic as that road has, I am still on my game driving through some of those hoods. The area around Maryam Mosque sucks.
I still say the Humboldt Park/Garfield Park area on the West side is the worst part of the city. It might be the closest thing to the third world I've ever seen in the United States.
Outside the US, besides my military adventures: Matamoros was one tough place. I should have never gone there.

The most hanger out place I've been to was the flight deck and that was a trip I made every day

Couldn't even tell you where it is, but the concierge at Hotel Valencia in San Antonio set me up one night. Walked through some areas with people smoking crack at bus stops, Mexicans staring me down, and about 100 people in a dark park at 1 in the morning

Yeah I posted earlier that that area is in the top 3 worst in the US that I've seen. I was there after dark and it was scary. Saw a huge fight break out on a corner and I floored it before someone started shooting

Parts of Oakland are a little rough. I see prostitutes street walking all around my job and there was a drive by on Friday on our block. But I still have to go with New Orleans being sketchier.
Edit: Honorable mention to Tompkins Square Park at 2am in the mid 90's.

Legit chop shops you say?!?! The horror, I'm just glad you made it out alive from such a treacherous area.

Huh?
I have a 180 degree out opinion of Cork City and County. The times I've visited, the folks were wonderful. Kinsale is a pretty cool spot.
Montego Bay and Kingston are my two worst spots. Next time I am in Jamaica will be the result of a shipwreck, plane crash, hijacking or mechanical in-flight issue-emergency landing.

Same for me. Don't plan on ever visiting Jamaica again. What a shithole.

What was so bad about Montego Bay? I'm just curious because I didn't go last time I was in Jamaica and saw it as a port on a lot of cruises

It was 2004, the war was dragging on and they blamed a lot of shite on America. We had rocks thrown at us, we were kicked out of every bar we went to. People tried to start fights with us.
Cobh on the other had was great, I had a really good time there.

I spent two years there and just didn't find it that dangerous. Not in comparison to other Middle Eastern countries i had been to.

Working a blowout with Boots and Coots.
Parking lot, getting shot at.
Airplane deal, cupped a prop.
Corvette, in a curve, got behind on my steering.

Did you get a chance to go to the old British naval base in Cobh? Pretty cool.
The Celtic Tiger bust has probably made the locals appreciate us hard currency spenders more there. I love me some Clare, Cork and Kerry.
