Just deep enough to keep the body from smelling.

We built a lift/pump station last summer that was around 25 foot deep. It was the deepest hole I've ever been in except for a strip mine that is.

might have been 8. I can't remember if we used 4 x 4 x 16 or 12. it was 8 feet above ground though.

Physically? About 3 feet for a fence post
Figuratively? The one I'm currently in.

I was on a well that we drilled to 35,000'. TVD was only about 31,000'. Which number counts?
Posted on 9/8/14 at 6:46 pm to DonChowder
Hand auger about 20'
Water well 785' with a rig I was overseeing
Oil field about 15,000'
any other about 3' to 4'

85' deep caison in Belle Chase for a cell tower (monopole).
Once drilled an 8" auger shaft into the ground 900' and never torqued out. The site was in Westwego.

He used a post-hole digger with 8' handles I'm guessing. I inherited a pair from my electrician grandpaw, best shoulder workout on earth.

I have dug a 6 foot hole with a 5 foot post hole digger when I was a kid. Why, you ask? Because my old man was an a-hole. How, you ask? Very fricking slowly
