Why doesn't God, the one and only god, just squash the devil like a bug?
ETA: You can ignore the question, Darth. I know there is no logical explanation and don't want to devolve the thread into a religious debate.

Too busy giving aids and ebola to kids in Africa and helping Cindy pass her math test here in the states. No time for the devil.

Yes I have witnessed demons before. I heard one talk to me just like someone was sitting next to me

What is very mouch more frightening than any type of demon hullabulla is the following:
What if there is no demon and you are truly losing control of your mind?
Really think about that for a second. Don't pass it off as a whim. Truly going insane is probably the most frightening concept I can come up with.

Do You Believe In Demons?

They exist. If you encounter one, you know it.
Until you do, I can understand being skeptical.
It's much easier to say you don't believe in them. No one will ever look at you like you're weird or crazy or you're a dumbass if you never say that you know they are real.
Knowing that, I still saying that they are real. The mockery means nothing if you know the truth.
I won't try to convince any of you who don't believe. I'm just reporting what I know.

Pretty crazy how god is omnipotent and omniscient, yet can't seem to get rid of that pesky devil.

I do believe. Yes, I am a christian. I believe in God and Satan. I also believe in Angels. So therefore I believe in demons too.

Darth, you got any stories?
All y'all keep hinting that you have had experiences, but y'all won't post any details. This kinda stuff fascinates me.

“Choosing not to believe in the Devil won’t protect you from him.” - Father Lucas
“When a thief robs your house, does he turn on the lights? No, he doesn’t want you to know he’s there. Just like the devil,” Lucas insists. “He’s a deceiver, Michael, he’s a deceiver.”

These threads are so awesome. I like to bookmark them for when friends say most people in Louisiana wouldn't believe in something as silly as demons. I then pull up this nonsense and watch their jaws drop as they realize that a sizable contingent of their peers actually believe in malevolent demonic possession despite what we know about the ability of the brain to perceive things incorrectly.

Yeah...that's kind of our point.
The fact that so many can casually brush the fact that our brains are capable of making us think all sorts of outlandish shite and automatically assume that what they see MUST be real and that it MUST be supernatural is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR more frightening to me than any real demonic bullshite ever could be.
Maybe I'm wired differently. If I looked out in my yard and saw an elephant walk across it, I would not automatically run to Facebook and declare I saw an elephant. I'd ask anyone in the neighborhood if THEY saw it...I'd look for piles of elephant shite or giant footprint...maybe even some peanut shells. If none of that panned out, I'd RUN not walk to the nearest ER and ask for a CT scan immediately, because it's far more likely something is wrong with me than that the basic laws of nature (or reality) have been altered in my favor.
Others declare an elephant walked through their yard...or were abducted by aliens...or saw bigfoot...or battled with demons with spirit swords...and double-down screaming "I know what I saw!!!!" despite acknowledging the brain's ability to cause us to see tons of stuff which was never there.
Just not to them...

This...this...a thousand times this.
To be brutally honest, it was this board that caused me to be as vocal about my atheism as I am now...so thanks I guess. I've lived my entire life (44) in South Louisiana and I NEVER EVER dreamed this many people believed this much complete horseshite...which is absolutely terrifying to me. I'd much prefer lunatics to walk around rubbing dogshit on themselves and screaming at visions than to have no idea who around me believes this kind of stuff.
Maybe you guys could wear pieces of flair?
