Maybe maybe not, but I think his time as a police officer is at an end.
And since it looks like a justifiable shoot, that will be a damn tragedy.

I missed the part where the officer's eye socket got busted up.... This true?
There has been a few news releases on this but it's not 'offical'.

Also the warning shot. Is this what is thought to have happen? Sure it wasn't just a missed shot? He didn't seem to be the best shot with most going left
Don't have a link, but this was being discussed last night on one of the talking shows.
Could have been a missed shot, who knows.
Don't be so quick to judge an officer under extreme duress. If you ever been hunting, you may have experienced 'buck fever'. Now imagine that 25 times over BUT your life is on the line and you have 1-3 seconds to react.
Make the wrong split-second decision, you could end up in a morgue. Many police officers have lost thier lifes in the line of duty, protecting you and me, by failing to make the correct decision.

I'll hire him. If his story ends up true, I will hire his arse for more money and better benefits. Guaranteed.

Yes, chief of police confirmed today.
One thing that no one is discussing is the officers condition when he fired off his rounds at the perp. First, there seems to be a weapon discharge in his vehicle after the cop was punched with enough force to cause a blow out fracture of the eye socket.
It's tough enough to make a fairly decent pattern on a static target from 25-30 feet with two good eyes and a clear head.
Imaging trying to hit a moving target that you deem a threat after you have been assaulted and disoriented by a gunshot in a closed vehicle. We know he landed 6 rounds, I wonder how many he got off?
I applaud the marksmanship he displayed in a very stressful situation.

Possibly charging the cop after a fail attempt to get his gun?

His friends say he became a police officer because he had a rough upbringing and wanted to do it as compensatory growth. Yes, a damn tragedy. Shame on anybody who automatically assumed he killed a person just because he's white.
The rules of the road have been lodged,
It's people games you gotta dodge.
It's alright Ma...

When I was involved in law enforcement the standard service pistol was 9mm with ball rounds. It would take a lot of shots to drop a pissed off 12yr old girl. I also recall from shooting simulators that most officers throw their first round in the adrenaline rush and could rarely accurately recall the exact amount of rounds discharged.
This cop, local business owners and the good residents of Ferguson are gonna get a screw job. Nationwide race relations are going to continue to worsen. The media has been irresponsible and despicable for the most part.

I wouldn't worry about it. A lot of democrats are going to want this "grassroots" response to the shooting to continue for as long as possible. I don't think they want this to stop yet.
I left grassroots in quotes because it looks more like AstroTurf to me. The overwhelming majority of the violent offenders arrested in Ferguson last night were not from Missouri. They are agitators from out of town.

quote:Hyperbole much? No doubt, there are some law enforcement folks that seem to be in it for the adrenaline rush (I call it adrenaline addiction) but I would say the majority do it and I mean do it by putting their life on the line every time they kiss their wife bye, good night or whatever, not know whether they will come home or not. We know nothing about this guy, really. Let's give it time.

He won't though he will be made to look like a murderer by our transparent and post racial Justice Department

Many many many more jobs that are more dangerous that being a police officer. The "kiss the wife and kids bye everytime I leave for work not knowing if I'm coming home" is a little hyperbole

I actually think that Obama and Holder are feeling the opposite pressure that a White President and Attorney General would feel. Remember, Bush 41's administration prosecuted and convicted the Rodney King cops for civil rights violations, while Holder didn't bring civil rights charges against George Zimmerman, despite the demands of "his people". Obama and Holder are keen to avoid the impression that they're trying to "stick it to a White cop", while a White administration would try to avoid the impression that they're insensitive to the suffering of Black folks.

if by "railroaded" you mean "fired for killing an unarmed man who was raising his hands in surrender and who was no longer an immediate threat to anybody" than yes. He will be "railroaded".
Parrotting the narrative that is not supported by facts, I see.
