Proximity to outer space? The Aliens? Chance? Radiation from the sun? Seriously, I would love to understand how through evolution people got darker based on proximity to the equator.
I'll be simple.
Would darker skin, dark eyes and less hair create an advantage for those living in extreme amounts of sunlight?
Would light skin, light eyes create an advantage for those living where the sun is significantly less prevalent?

You do understand that even scientist and archeologist do not dispute the facts that are listed/given in the Old Testament, right?
Pretty much the only thing they largely agree with is the realm of Saul onward. Clearly some variation of that happened and there's tons of evidence for it. We have yet to find any direct proof that the Jews were ever enslaved in Egypt, and that's one of the more believable things that is written about.

I'll give you a hint: It involves the sun.
Right. So one theory is that people in different latitudes developed darker or lighter skin to take in or keep out excess vitamin D.

What do you think he did? Just pooped us out of a jello mold?

The Equator covers the entire planet? Wouldn't that have produced similar results throughout? It seems to have fallen hard on Africa.

It's more than just the location of the equator. There are a LOT of geological, biological and geographical factors that make Africa what it is.

This thread is great. I love how humans try to explain God and other things that humans are not meant to understand. We are an obsessed species at trying to "factualize" information.
(if we can't prove it, it must not be real)

What things are humans not meant to understand?

You're the one laughing, huh? Good times.

It's the other way around...for the most part.
People moved from the equator outward.

My grandmother told me that black peoples palms and soles are white because god made them put their hands against the wall when he painted them.

Wow... have not heard that one before...

This is an absurdly simplistic outlook. If you believe in God, then you believe he ingrained us with this curiosity about our origins. Thus for the Christian, the desire to discover our history and learn from it should be seen as a Godly endeavor.

It seems that only fundamentalists are afraid of science.

Some if the origins of scientific inquiry were to prove the existence of God. Newton wrote more about the Bible than science. Science and religion are not mutually exclusive, any assertation that they are is ridiculous.

Well sure, but He doesn't mention that in His book full of facts. Seems weird. Would've explained lots.
